the tom beat isn't correct, your right hand shouldn't follow the bass strokes.....it is actually very difficult what travis does if you do it correctly.....it should feel like left handed drumming almost....xavbarker does that tom beat right...(im not even a fan of his but that is true)...the floor tom will land on the upstrokes of the bass drum when you use it...

in single time, downbeats are 1234, upbeats are the &'s

in double time, down beats are 1&2&3&4, upbeats are the e's and ah's. You got it backwards when explaining the chorus. Other than that, this video helped me realize i was playing the intro wrong.

It isnt a cover as soon as its 100%. As soon as you hit 100%, its called copying, or mimicing. So this guy did a damn good job. He added his own style, yet stayed in the same context. Thats musicianship my friend, get used to it.
