  • If you live in the UK and want to purchase Visco Fuse visit HobbyChemicals-co-uk

  • was that like thermit puddy like you added Nc laqure to it wright

  • nope, all dry powder.

  • So you used a prime to ignite your thermite correct? Cause I've never gotten visco to light my thermite. Not with red or black iron oxide or with silicon dioxide thermite mixes. I've even had sparklers fail to light the black iron oxide thermite.

  • I mixed strontium nitrate in with the thermite, it's the same chemical used in road flares available at any local sporting goods store or walmart

  • Ah yeah, I have some of that already. Cool, thanks for getting back to me.

  • not a paste, i mixed powdered strontium road flare into the thermite powder

  • were did you get the al powder?

  • ebay. buy it now. some chem supply company. it was dirt cheap. 200 mesh or finer. i bought the rust and the aluminum together, they came from the same company, in the same box. no problems. I bought 5 Lbs of each and it was under $20 including shipping.

  • does anyone know if you can use magnalium to make thermite??

  • absolutely, yes. but only as a primer/auto ignitor. use 1/3 Fe0 (III) red, 1/3 powdered Al, and 1/3 powdered MgAl

  • hi,I'm thinking of making some of this thermite stuff...looks fun!...any tips?

    thanks,steve.

  • don't try to make your own rust and powdered aluminum. It's easier to just buy it of ebay like i did.

  • 200nm grade powdered pure aluminum

  • What aluminum did you use in the thermite? It looked like magnalium.
