How to open vw golf III glove box with broken handle.

So this had to be one of the most common problems on Golfs and Ventos. I have a Vento and it's broken too haha

Excellent! I finally managed to get into the glove box after over a year of grumbling! Now all i need is a new glove box locking mechanism and the lid :D

oh and how in the hell do they come up with such crappy parts...would have been more acceptable to have this problem on a 1983 Datsun...but on a 1997 Golf? Disapointing.

Thanks for the video. Just broke mine yesterday and was about to get out the chainsaw...until I found this video. Was of great help and works like a charm, it's easy to see where you need to push once the key is slightly inserted. I was going to try to find a replacement handle, but it appears it will break again anyways...so I might as well just keep it like that...

does this work on other volkswagon models? I just put my iPod into the glove box to hide while shopping and when I went to make sure it was locked, the handle broke. I desperately want my iPod back.
