  • AND I feel the need to quote this scene....

"It's a joke...it's all a joke...mother, forgive me..." *Violently thrown down through a marble counter top*

  • I knew about this song before Watchmen came out, because my grandmother listens to it, and when I saw the movie in the theater and this song played during Comedian's death, it took my breath away.

  • It's all a joke.

  • Such a wonderful song and voice. :)

  • Brilliant film.

  • I found this because of a story posted it as Gabriel and Crowley (from Supernatural)'s theme song... Its a beautiful song to go with the story.....

  • Who watches the watchmen?

  • Finally got his punchline.

  • It's all a joke, it's all a fucking joke...(Then the Comedian is throwed out of the apartment where he lived.)

  • you think that this sound and voice is from another planet. . Nat King Cole you are really an unforgattable singer.!!!

  • This is my theme song to the zombie apocalypse.

  • Brilliant. The Minutemen photo is my favourite

  • Well...I know what I'll be listening to when The End Is Nigh...

  • nunca me rendire,ni aun delante del armageddon

  • your volume is off

  • 7 comedians got thrown off of his 5,000,000 feet house.

  • Any time a man has a hustler with a pistol on it on the living room table in his penthouse he is officially a badass.

  • Damn, now everytime I hear this song I look over my shoulder to make sure of no super-violent shenanigans...

  • @DyskoDelThunderback1 :Happy songs make the best violence scene/death scenes!

  • Give me one reason to hate this song! It's incredible.

  • "Hahaha, It's A Joke, It's All A Joke."

  • Some people dont know it, but song is classicsexy. The movie was dramatically sexy to me. Smoke a lil bit B4 watching, and you'll be in the movie! Lol

  • HOLY CRAP. DID YOU GUYS JUST SEE THAT!? SOMEBODY JUST GOT THROWN OUT OF A WINDOW!

  • @Momentum139 HOLY SHIT!!! AND THAT SOMEBODY LOOKS LIKE JUSTIN BIEBER!!!!!

  • " hfft, well I guess it was only a matter of time."

  • i a lover of film and despite the shit mainstream critics say about watchmen i think some of the scenes are absolutely beautiful on a visual and auditory level and that zack snyder did his best to preserve the comic while making iconic scenes like the comedians death cinimaticlly beautiful

  • @brendanrobertson123

I know it would have been better if it had been 100% true but I agree, they couldn't realistically make it completely accurate, and for what it was, I thought it was fantastic, and it was an "Unforgettable" (lol) film

  • Thumbs up if you think Ozymandias is gay :D

  • i love this song i did not know that its in the watchmen soundtrack!

  • @naheed08 it's right at the beggining when the comedian dies

  • @naheed08 u sure u have watched the movie ?

  • Why isn't Nat King Cole like Obnoxiously famous?

  • me gusto mucho esta escena le dan una paliza al comediante a camara lenta y con musica clasica

  • Now this is real music. People with fantastic voices expressing themselves through what they love. None of that auto-tune bullshit here. This is the real deal, kids.

  • this sounds like frank sinatra

  • Fuck Drake

  • Watchmen is "unforgettable". :)

  • one of the most iconic scene in cinema history

  • I've loved this song as long as I can remember =P And the fact that Watchmen used it just makes it all the better haha :D

  • It's just a joke, life... it's a whole joke.

  • Sorry laurie, im informing rorschach 90 seconds ago

  • 7 people are forgettable

  • The most comforting, relaxation you can get from music and lyrics...

  • In loving memory of The Comedian & Rorschach. 2 of the most kick ass action heroes ever lived.

  • @yogafan6500 what part did rorschach dies?? i forgot it it's been a time since i've watched it

  • @deloreandmc88 The part at the near end of the flick in which he asks DR. Manhattan to kill him by blasting him. Sad but memorable. He's one of my favs.

  • @yogafan6500 why would he ask dr manhattan to blast him?

  • @deloreandmc88 Because He was tired of fighting with the rest of the now disbanded group.

  • @yogafan6500 Thanks! You've been a very helpful!!!!

  • @yogafan6500 Actually it was because he knew that he could not keep the secret that the blonde guy did in order to avoid a nuclear war, Rorschach was the ultimate good and didnt think in the gray area like the blonde guy. Who decided that millions of lives should be taken in order to save billions.

  • @yogafan6500 The Comedian was an asshole rapist motherfucker who's brains were as big as his balls.. Like none.. Rorschach was a real hero and a guy we all should look up to..

  • Unforgettable.... that's who we are!

  • Just a matter of time I suppose...

  • The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"

...and I'll look down and whisper

    "No."

  • Defenestration: The Best Kind of Murder

  • Awsome song, awsome movie

  • Classic absolutely classic!!!!!! beautiful song

  • ...Just a matter of time I suppose.

  • RIP: The Comedian and Rorschach. You 2 were the most kick ass characters of this movie.

  • @GameHero09 that's why there won't ever be a sequel LOL :D cause those two could only appear in flashbacks and since Comedian already did... well you know the story... the sequel would suck without these two. Have a nice day! And yeah they rock!

  • @LarryStudios Maybe they could make one based on the Minute men? That would be pretty good.

  • to Rorschach

    "unforgettable, thats what you are"

  • Fifty years from now, this song will still be a classic. Great movie, fantastic soundtrack.

  • makes me want to kick a douchebag off a huge building

  • Watchmen and Forrest Gump have the best soundtracks in filmaking history!!!

  • 7 people got thrown out of a window.

  • @The7thCrimsonKnight haha, nice xD

  • My special lady, the love of my life, sent me a link to this song recently. I don't care about the violent movies this song is associated with, I am glad that Mr. Cole recorded a song that can remind me of our love. So good!

  • I've often wondered why they play happy songs during violent scenes in movies or tv shows.

  • @Larzuthul It's a common stylistic device to create a contrast or maybe to lessen the effect the violence has on the viewer. In case of Watchmen I'd say the latter fits best. Another clue gives the title "Unforgettable". The Comedian will remain unforgettable throughout the whole film, in spite of the curious fact that he's killed right in the beginning.

Dunno what else but I'm sure you can come up something else. That's the beauty of interpretation, for which these stylistic tools are for.

  • @mithrandir1988 I think its also a nod to the fact, that the Comedian dies a with alot of sentimental feelings. When he is on his couch and listens to this song before he is killed, he smiles out of reminiscing about better times.

  • Just a matter of time, I suppose.

  • well I don't know anything in the video, but this is nat's best version of this tune. love it.

  • @WintersWar yeah dude i got a different version by accident and im so pissed its not even close

  • Tonight, a comedian died in New York...

  • This song is unforgettable. This songs is amazing, amazing, amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unforgettable asshole.

  • @screamwriter1 which is you.

  • @Raylet2 I meant the Comedian. But sure.

  • @screamwriter1

    yep, ur girlfriend's was :D

  • I cried waterfalls on this one ...!

  • Christ, the guy who sings this is black?

  • It's a joke. It's all a joke...

    Mother forgive me...

  • im adding this to my fallout playlist on itunes

    2:32

"Its a joke... its all a joke... mother forgive me...."

  • @shockisallinyourhead YEAH MAN, i hope its in fallout new vegas. I got my own fallout playlist i listen to when i play.

  • I always read Watchmen, I'm the biggest brazilian fan of Alan Moore. He's awesome! Watchmen is the apex of comics!! Never will be equalized, but the movie... :S

    Sorry, Zack Snider. :S

  • @0981462 Missed Kick-Ass graphic novel did ya. They are pretty much tied in my book.

  • @NoogLeader

Are you comparing the Kick Ass movie and the comic?

The movie was terrible, the comic was great.

  • @Onderonable Yes. I like them both. I had one problem with the movie. Kick-Ass got the girl in the movie. What was with that. She was supposed to be totally freaked out and repulsed by him and send a picture of her blowing some other guy off on her cell phone to him. The Director for the movie didn't go by the graphic novel for that part.

  • @NoogLeader That part of the comic just made me sad. I didn't like it at all. I hated the Red Death character they had for the movie. I just didn't like the movie at all. Compared to the comic book, it wasn't as good.

  • @Onderonable You Mean Red Mist. Yeah He was too dopey for the part.

  • @Onderonable shut up please with your hating on the movie, we all know you enjoyed the movie, now you're just comparing it to a comic book and in your opinion you think the book is better, just because you think that doesn't mean the movie is shit

  • when i put the watchmen on for the first time i just expected it to be like all the other films about superheros, a bunch of mindless crap. i was extremely wrong!

  • "Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon"

  • Watchmen = Unforgettable

  • WATCH MEN = AWESOMENESS

  • The version of Watchmen's unforgettable is not song by Nat King Cole..

I mean listen to the originals of Nat King.. His voice is totally different..

  • @Masakione

    They enhanced it

  • why has song never been remixed

  • @popsickle59

Fuck you Justin Bieber/Lil Wayne lover, this ain't for remixing.

  • @Reqrezentin I like/ love neither of those you listed. I think it is a classic and could make a sick beat, but that's just me then.

  • @Reqrezentin Nas sampled this song.

  • @Br0wNN01sE

Just heard it and I've got to say it's goooood

  • Beautiful movie ^^ Watched it 9 times and I will watch it some more :D

  • "Its all a joke, just one fucking joke"

  • The Comedian getting beaten to a pulp and thrown out a window, the Joker slicing a Chelsea smile into the face of an Arkham psychiatrist... Do villains have an inherent love of Nat King Cole? *lol*

  • Makes me feel like throwing somebody off a window

  • @oiramldx

  • I heard a joke......read a joke million times every time I search this video.

  • i like the way the picture picture iz with this song

  • i like the way the picture picture iz with this song

  • this movie has more plots than just -heroes diying- i saw it twice to finally understand every comment they do, the comedian is more than just a guy killing, he really has his reasons, same goes for veidt, or rorschach, this is the best movie of -heroes- out there, from the intro to all the plots, this movie its just... unforgettable...

  • simply the best movie ever ... Epic story epic heroes . I love every moment of this movie

  • incredible work of art movie-book and song

  • I juste love the intro with the piano in this version.

  • "Once you realise what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense."

  • ''They are shaping me into something gaudy, something lethal.''

I always get chills when the comedian is being thrown through the window :)

  • Mother forgive me.

  • I dont get it ,why did the comedian say that?

  • of all his recordings of this song, this is byfar, the best and most widely played. still love ya till this day, nat. so fortunate to have grown up to your magnificent voice.

  • @cindyelise1 You know how the Comedian was always just killing and doing bad things, and just having fun with it right? Well, in his eyes, the people do that too. So, he is just mocking them by acting like them. Everything is a joke. So, when he says it;s the only thing that makes sense, he means that nothing else makes sense in the world, but it makes sense of what he is doing. All he did was cast the humans behaviors back onto them. It's a really cool idea too. (:

  • i shall never compromise in this even in the face of Armageddon

  • Rorschach is a lot more badass than Wolverine. And his voice sounds so scary. "Rorschach's journal: October 12th, 1985 Tonight a comedian died in New York..." Great use of a classic song.

  • @joshbiach how could it be a good thing to hear of a watchmen 2? only bad things can come from a sequel to this. Watchmen is one of my absolute favorite movies, but nothing good can come from a second installment. it would be like making a Shawshank Redemption two. it wouldn't make sense in a story line concept.

  • @DMCVirgil Exactly, Watchmen as a movie is a perfectly self-contained package. Any strings left at the end are there to create a greater sense of horror through implication. Lovecraft knew the strongest fear was that of the unknown, and the fact the ending is heavily implied but never explicitly explained helps the plot feel absolutely terrifying.

Watchmen gives us a glimpse at a future we narrowly avoided, but never "finishes" the story, because the story isn't over until we are.

  • @TheSamuraiGoomba well fucking put! Kudos.

  • @DMCVirgil

Seriously. It's always a bad idea to try to make a sequel to a story that was so clearly meant to NOT have one. It would be as bad an idea as trying to make a sequel to Highlander...

Oh wait...dammit! I didn't ever want to remember that...

  • @mash587 -

I agree. A sequel to Watchmen probably isn't the best idea out there. However, I wouldn't mind seeing a prequel mainly because I'd like to see either The Minute Men or the main characters when they were young and really felt they could make a difference.

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 a prequel is a way better idea than a sequel, a sequel would ruin it :P

  • @THEFREAK4498 *

I can see it now: they all get together for Rorschach's funeral (a token funeral since there's no body) and each one has a flashback about something that happened before the Keene Act of '77.

After the funeral they could incorporate some flashbacks into some adventure (like they did in Highlander).

The possibilities are endless but I just don't see it happening.

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 well as far a rorschach's body dr manhattan can easily bring him back or sumthinq like dhaa buh the movie still wouldnt be as interesting as the 1st

  • @keyshon100

if they made a 2nd watchmen film it would be a crime to the idea of watchmen!

plus Alan Moore, the writer of watchmen already said that it would only make sense if Rorschach died

  • "You really don't give a damn about the human race. God help us all."

  • Who would have thought this song would match up so perfectly with a fight scene?

  • it's the music, not the lyrics.

  • @Cappy14 the fight was epic and the song was epic too.as far as i know epic+epic=EPIC!!! so that's why the song matched the fight per
