When i play caspian border or big maps i get at least 20 kills.. its just that those maps are too big to be capturing flags on foot. Get a tank and then you'll get similar amount of kills as me.
@MythicalSkull13 I think we're going to get private matches after the patch because battlefield right now has a lot of problems that need to be addressed . So they need to focus on the problems first then the private match option
of course.. someone complaining about not having 64 man on maps on console.. just buy a pc.. a good pc, monitor, keyboard, all together costs about $1000. What is being said is common knowledge discussion about scale etc. After mainly COD fanboys getting shirty at BF3 winning all these awards and Activision themselves indicating that this is PC footage & that the console version is gonna suck @30fps. They needed to maintain the level of graphics we were all expecting. The inclusion of jets + choppas & tanks now running 2 man crews is as much a factor on console player counts. BF3 is a multi-platform game this has to be expected with RAM issues
Understand dice did their best for consoles they didnt want to make most of the maps smaller thats why theres less action on caspian border.on pc mode its like metro theres guys everywhere.the game was built for pc because it lets dice be able to put evrything they want in the game.just enjoy the game how it is stop always demanding more
I agree completely. I always felt like I was in the action playing BFBC2 all the time. I really was hoping they made this game 32 players.. I doubt the graphics would've been hugely different over 8 players..
Oh forgot to say, I have played on a few 32 player servers on pc and they are a lot more action packed. They would be even more so with the slightly smaller console maps too!
This makes me pretty glad I got it for PC over my xbox.
BF3 is probably a lot better in the rush mode on xbox and ps3 though because the frontlines will be a lot more focused. Still though, kinda a pity for the consoles.... :(
The way I see it, it that even with 24 players per match, it's not 12 vs. 12. Take a map like Caspian Border, or any of the big maps. On either team, there will almost ALWAYS be 2 players up in Jets. There will likely be 2 players in the attack heli as well. On the ground, this leaves 8 players per team. Then take in to account the 2 players that will always be in a tank, and 2-4 players that will be in other ground vehicles.
When you add all of this up, there are only 4-6 infantry per team!!!!

Honestly I think you're right. 32 players would be nice. If there is no lag at it's present 24 players, why not give us an extra for each team on these bigger maps but keep it at 24 on maps like Metro. Even Damavand Peak. (Ok that 1 could use 32 as well)
And Starhawk is coming out this year for PS3 ONLY. 32 PLAYERS plus destruction and vehicles and YOU CAN make barriers shields and more stuff. Graphics are AMAZING. Public beta feb 21 2012. try it. more fun then bf3 imo for consoles

@Imposonator3212 Lol no, My ps3 crashes ~ every 9 matches (screen freeze) because of a cpu overload (to many explosions at the same time or something similarly stressful on the cpu) I know for a fact this would be so much worse with more players. I don't like cheating, but if everyone knows the bug, atleast it evens the sides again if someone chooses to use it. I wouldn't do that personally, but if the glitch is big and annoying enough people. Maybe they'll fix it faster. Does anyoe remember MAG on the PS3. That had 200+ players on the ground at one time. So I don't how the fuck DICE came up with the idea of 64 players on console would make the game slow.

I know where you are coming from but I don't completely agree. I think it's good as it is. Battlefield 3 is a lot of the time already pretty action packed. If you want more players you can play on the PC. I play on the PS3, but I still enjoy the large maps. Just having fun in the jets and tanks withouth to much people pissing me off. But I still know what you mean, sometimes it is kind of bad when you don't see anyone on the ground for like 10 minutes. But oh well, I'm still okay with it :)

@deogrou I can't run TF2 technically, and I run it anway haha. There's a lot of lag on the muns but it's not that bad if you play on small servers. My PC is from like 2005.

256 players on mag was horrible lag everywhere now resistance 2 had up to 60 (I dunno if the first had it and if the second had it then the third must right? Tell me lol) but yeah resistance 2 had 60 players and private servers and it ran perfectly fine... No lag just a shit load of fun and the graphics were just almost as good as bf3. I think they should change things up a bit... So not fair I hardly see enemies on caspian but with 60 I'm sure it would be a warzone.

Don't get me wrong I like my pretty trees and grass too but, I agree 4 more players aside on larger maps would be better. (that is, at least I'd be dying more often!) 32 plyrsfor me. But look at Homefront with its 32 players. That was Kaos who made Frontlines and homefront with 32 plus plyrs so don't know why dice can't. Also look at MAG, that was 256 plyrs all on consoles.

Anyway, I agree I think 32 players is a bit limited for huge maps like Caspian and Firestorm. Even medium sized maps like Tehran Highway get pretty dull unless you're in the middle of the map on Conquest or something... Bottom line: Gameplay>graphics. I've given about 40 hours to BF3 already and its getting a bit boring I've got to admit. COD wasn't as fun either but if you could put the best of both worlds together, you'd have a superb FPS.
I'm the guy usually among the lowest in kills, so the kills I get in bf3 feel more rewarding, but they should up the player count a bit. Good job on your reviews!

Everyone's complaining about the max players but wth, I think it's just fine the way it is if they add 8 to 10 more players it'll make the larger maps more exciting but to be honest I'm satisfied with the way it is at the moment.
Well if you take a look at the squad and team list you have more squad spaces than max amount of players, so hopefully thats a hint that they will increase the amount, unless they didnt bother changing the amount of available squads.
I generally have a good time with Caspian Border in conquest. Granted I go engineer and focus on anti-vehicle, but generally I get 7-10 kills. My favorite large conquest map is Kargh Island. That's a well designed map, although A and D could be a little bit closer to B/C. I absolutely hate Op Firestorm, however. I usually end up going like 3-2 with the 2 deaths from snipers up on some pole 500 meters away. I've taken to just quitting when that map shows up.
So if we get 32 players as a suprise, then PC players who troll on console, will go Cry and Whine about why we got 32. They think that they should get everything special then consoles. I play PC too often, and half of there community is like that. Were all gamers. Don't discriminate cause u have 800 dollars worth of equipment on PC.

You're already running the lowest settings Frostbite 2 can run and it's squeezing every last bit of power the consoles (especially the X360) can give. @HateMakingVideos The problem is Microsoft and Sony have a bandwidth cap on their respective networks. With all the shit going on in battlefield it would be to much traffic over the network and would go over the restrictions that MS and Sony have.its not the number of players so much as the amount of other data being transferred. i can't find it at the moment, there is an article from a dice developer explaining why they had to compromise and go 24 on the consoles
I get what you mean when you say you want more players, I agree with you, I would love 32 players because there aren't enough when im capturing positions, but you also have to look at the fact that majority of the players on this game are just eager little kids gunning for the jets and choppers and other vehicles. Because they are a new installment to FPS games and most cod players don't see this. So the lack of kills is most probably cause of the need for the vehicles especially the air support

I don't like cheating, but if everyone knows the bug, atleast it evens the sides again if someone chooses to use it. I wouldn't do that personally, but if the glitch is big and annoying enough people. Maybe they'll fix it faster. Personally, I think the big names on youtube gaming, should call attention to problems like this (and also pc gaming has alot of issues lately) It's like you saying gameplay>graphics. You have a good point and get it across. Perhaps they did that in a different format.

Does anyoe remember MAG on the PS3. That had 200+ players on the ground at one time. So I don't how the fuck DICE came up with the idea of 64 players on console would make the game slow.

It's debatable really you have the choise in killing more but have more chance to die or stay as it is and use the envirement to a advantage to die less and but less chance to kill people, like you sayed it would be cool to have more players, but they did have there nemisis Call of duty coming out with mw3 what pushed battlefield to be more on the quality and detail of the gameplay and not just the gameplay

I know where you are coming from but I don't completely agree. I think it's good as it is. Battlefield 3 is a lot of the time already pretty action packed. If you want more players you can play on the PC. I play on the PS3, but I still enjoy the large maps. Just having fun in the jets and tanks withouth to much people pissing me off. But I still know what you mean, sometimes it is kind of bad when you don't see anyone on the ground for like 10 minutes. But oh well, I'm still okay with it :)

But I think I might save up for a decent PC in the future that could at least run games like Minecraft, Terraria and TF2 and stuff well. Idk I either want a PC that could run this game with high settings really well or a decent PC that can't run it at all, but is also a lot cheaper, because this laptop is just terrible lol

@deogrou I can't run TF2 technically, and I run it anway haha. There's a lot of lag on the muns but it's not that bad if you play on small servers. My PC is from like 2005.

@PUTNAMEINTHISSPOT Hehe I can't play TF2 at all, I do have it as well as some other games from Steam like Portal, Portal 2, but I just have too much lag and impossible to play with framerate, even on the lowest settings. So yeah, I should probably clean my laptop a bit though. Literally and figuratively lol

256 players on mag was horrible lag everywhere now resistance 2 had up to 60 (I dunno if the first had it and if the second had it then the third must right? Tell me lol) but yeah resistance 2 had 60 players and private servers and it ran perfectly fine... No lag just a shit load of fun and the graphics were just almost as good as bf3. I think they should change things up a bit... So not fair I hardly see enemies on caspian but with 60 I'm sure it would be a warzone.

Don't get me wrong I like my pretty trees and grass too but, I agree 4 more players aside on larger maps would be better. (that is, at least I'd be dying more often!) It would be nice, albiet not as consumer friendly, to have fit that in with a larger hard drive install. Who knows but DICE. Thanks for the videos

32 plyrsfor me. But look at Homefront with its 32 players. That was Kaos who made Frontlines and homefront with 32 plus plyrs so don't know why dice can't. Also look at MAG, that was 256 plyrs all on consoles.

Anyway, I agree I think 32 players is a bit limited for huge maps like Caspian and Firestorm. Even medium sized maps like Tehran Highway get pretty dull unless you're in the middle of the map on Conquest or something... Bottom line: Gameplay>graphics. I've given about 40 hours to BF3 already and its getting a bit boring I've got to admit. COD wasn't as fun either but if you could put the best of both worlds together, you'd have a superb FPS.

Everyone's complaining about the max players but wth, I think it's just fine the way it is if they add 8 to 10 more players it'll make the larger maps more exciting but to be honest I'm satisfied with the way it is at the moment.

Well if you take a look at the squad and team list you have more squad spaces than max amount of players, so hopefully thats a hint that they will increase the amount, unless they didnt bother changing the amount of available squads.

I generally have a good time with Caspian Border in conquest. Granted I go engineer and focus on anti-vehicle, but generally I get 7-10 kills. My favorite large conquest map is Kargh Island. That's a well designed map, although A and D could be a little bit closer to B/C. I absolutely hate Op Firestorm, however. I usually end up going like 3-2 with the 2 deaths from snipers up on some pole 500 meters away. I've taken to just quitting when that map shows up.

You guys can't have more than 24 players, because your old hardware can't handle it.
You're already running the lowest settings Frostbite 2 can run and it's squeezing every last bit of power the consoles (especially the X360) can give. You can just suddenly add 8 more players can expect it to work! If you really want the full BF3 experience, your only choice is to get a PC, not complain online.

@HateMakingVideos The problem is Microsoft and Sony have a bandwidth cap on their respective networks. With all the shit going on in battlefield it would be to much traffic over the network and would go over the restrictions that MS and Sony have.its not the number of players so much as the amount of other data being transferred. i can't find it at the moment, there is an article from a dice developer explaining why they had to compromise and go 24 on the consoles

I get what you mean when you say you want more players, I agree with you, I would love 32 players because there aren't enough when im capturing positions, but you also have to look at the fact that majority of the players on this game are just eager little kids gunning for the jets and choppers and other vehicles. Because they are a new installment to FPS games and most cod players don't see this. So the lack of kills is most probably cause of the need for the vehicles especially the air support
