For the most part, everything you need to know is presented to you throughout the story, but don't expect to understand everything immediately first time through. There is also a lot of ambiguity, meaning that you can give some parts whatever meaning you want (such as the "Ritsuko Akagi, the truth is..." scene)

Asuka rejects it when fighting the Eva's becuase she realises that her mother was always watching over her. and Shinji becuase he realises that people need to experience pain and friendship. Eventually all the people who died or turned into LCL during 3rd impact in this will come back to life if they find reason to live again. Shinji and Asuka just came back first.

However in rebuild after shinji kills Shamshel the entire body (core included) is destroyed. However it is Gainax so ho knows...

But regardless it IS Anno, so we should expect crap to get real by the end of the series. Nah, I'd say the best scene is when Asuka just starts treating Shinji like trash, moreso than she does normally. The one where she's all like "You can't stand up to anyone!" and Shinji flips over the table and starts flailing around a chair before choking her. I felt that Shinji kind of deserved it for jerking off to her while she was in a coma.
@Helldiver450 Well Evas are more organic than anything else, so it wouldn't really matter whether she attacked the cockpit or not, if they lose a head or any of their legs their out. Besides the Lance probably still would have gotten her, none of the pilots could have expected that.

So if she did the job properly, she could've defeated almost all of them, and the instrumentality would have been prevented.

On the other hand, regarding the eject button... remember that they are 14 years old, they act more with their instincts than with their heads. Another problem is that the AT field protected her for a few seconds, if she ejected her then the AT field would have banish and the result would've been the same
In my opinion, this is the single best scene from Evangelion.... the entire series, the movies, and of what I've seen from the first two Rebuild movies.
The first time I saw this was at the theater during Otakon in 1999.
The time thing ur referring to is the amount of time left the Evangelion has reserved before it completely shuts down and becomes immobile leaving the pilot vulnerable.
The lance is the spear of Longinus, hmm... trying to word it so I don't spoil anything uh.. it can pierce thru the A.T Field (A protective force field) which u see Asuka trying to keep at bay @ 4:10 that's all I will say - Watch the TV series and Movies right after, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for those who love to think.
@th3azscorpio It's because Shinji chooses to save her after Instrumentality when Rei gives him the choice. You'd have to watch the whole movie. Her Eva is shredded, but she lives (I think.)

Tiffany Grant is to Asuka just as Steve Blum is to Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. She gave a phenomenal performance in both the anime series and movie.

But the Neon Genesis dub was pretty bad besides Asuka's voice actor (I liked the added german and stuff she did). This is the one dub that I think is actually pretty poor. A lot of weeabos hate on TTGL's dub but I liked it more than that sub. And then there are dubs like G Gundam which are made of pure awesome. Weeabos just like hating on english dubs.
He was trying to get her on his side, but since she didn't, he killed her. After all, had Rei done as planned, everyone who died over the course of the show would be back by dinner time, and he could live a quiet life with Yui and Shinji.

@Yonkage As much as i would love to see this part redone as well, im doubting it will be in the new series, mainly because of the fact that: for seele to create the mass-pro evas they had used the core (or the data they collected from it) from the 4th angel (Shamshel) which was left in tact in the original series, with a combination of the dummy system from Kaworu. However in rebuild after shinji kills Shamshel the entire body (core included) is destroyed. However it is Gainax so ho knows...

@Saaaam07 Actually, not Gainax. Anno started a new company for the rebuilds with the intention of making something better than what came before. But regardless it IS Anno, so we should expect crap to get real by the end of the series. I mean, given the current amount of content they've crammed into the first two movies they could theoretically reach EOE in 3.0. and then do something MORE in 4.0! I'm excited!!!

In the original series and EoE, it follows the seele's death sea scroll predictions, but in the rebuilds, things dont go that swell... so we'll see what happens

Nah, I'd say the best scene is when Asuka just starts treating Shinji like trash, moreso than she does normally. The one where she's all like "You can't stand up to anyone!" and Shinji flips over the table and starts flailing around a chair before choking her. I felt that Shinji kind of deserved it for jerking off to her while she was in a coma.

If she simply didn't get to cocky and kept her "cool", she could've used the blades to destroy the Eva series's cores.
And if they're too hard to kill, then that's fine.
But as an Eva pilot, she should know as well as the viewers that the cockpit/dummy plug is always concealed in the back.
If you guys noticed, ALL of her attacks missed the cores and cockpits.
Seriously, take a good look.
It's a shame though, i bet Rei could've kicked their asses properly.

@Helldiver450 Well Evas are more organic than anything else, so it wouldn't really matter whether she attacked the cockpit or not, if they lose a head or any of their legs their out. Besides the Lance probably still would have gotten her, none of the pilots could have expected that.

@hollow33 true.. but with all do respect; If she simply struck all of their cockpits, they'd be disabled from control. And if shit destroyed their cores, they would burst like Angels.
So if she did the job properly, she could've defeated almost all of them, and the instrumentality would have been prevented.
Furthermore, when the lance was coming, she still had time to raise a hand to absorb the impact. Better a hand than an eye, correct?
Evas are controlled by the cockpit, not the head.

@Helldiver450 Regarding you first pointm Asuka destroying the core of the eva series, I agree. The only two ways of really destroy them would have been the core or the dummy sistem
On the other hand, regarding the eject button... remember that they are 14 years old, they act more with their instincts than with their heads. Another problem is that the AT field protected her for a few seconds, if she ejected her then the AT field would have banish and the result would've been the same

In my opinion, this is the single best scene from Evangelion.... the entire series, the movies, and of what I've seen from the first two Rebuild movies.
The first time I saw this was at the theater during Otakon in 1999.

The time thing ur referring to is the amount of time left the Evangelion has reserved before it completely shuts down and becomes immobile leaving the pilot vulnerable.
The lance is the spear of Longinus, hmm... trying to word it so I don't spoil anything uh.. it can pierce thru the A.T Field (A protective force field) which u see Asuka trying to keep at bay @ 4:10 that's all I will say - Watch the TV series and Movies right after, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for those who love to think.

@th3azscorpio It's because Shinji chooses to save her after Instrumentality when Rei gives him the choice. You'd have to watch the whole movie. Her Eva is shredded, but she lives (I think.)

@kabukyramp Well english obviously isn't your primary language judging by how terrible the grammar in your comment was... But the Neon Genesis dub was pretty bad besides Asuka's voice actor (I liked the added german and stuff she did). This is the one dub that I think is actually pretty poor. A lot of weeabos hate on TTGL's dub but I liked it more than that sub. And then there are dubs like G Gundam which are made of pure awesome. Weeabos just like hating on english dubs.
