  • Boris Williams we miss you! return to the band please!!!

  • COme on guys, stop saying this in every video of The Cure. Of course Boris is God compared with Jason but in this song Jason didn´t make a bad act.

  • Wow...an opinion gets 7 minuses? What a bunch of douche bags on here!

  • dude!!!!! alkaline does this??????? what the shit?? findin it

  • Yeah, it's a good one, kind of acoustic. It's from the MySpace Transmissions. They did this along with acoustic type versions of Emma, Love Love Kiss Kiss, and I think that's it...could be another one though

  • God only knows when they'll come to Ireland again. And even then I'll only be able to see them if they play in Marley Park. And even then I've never heard of anyone playing thee more than once =(

  • lucky =/

  • i love this song...acoustic version is a lot more personal...way better!! by the way this is may fav song...THE CURE 4e!!

  • this song is about one of Roberts best friends dying and him not being able to say goodbye.

  • It was Billy Mackenzie.

Very wonderful vocalist of The Associates.

  • I believe that the friend committed suicide. :(

  • the cure to the grave!

  • amy to the grave under the cure!

  • is it called cut or cut here? i feel so bad not knowing this :[

  • It's called "Cut Here". There is another song called "Cut" from The Cure, but it isn't a single and it has no official video. The song "Cut" is from the Wish album. "Cut Here" is not on any studio album, only on the Greatest Hits.

  • thnx :D

  • cut here

  • this song rocks

  • well , this song is sad... but I love this song , The Cure is the best band ever...

u only need to hear The Cure to know why it is my favorite band

  • This song is so sad and so is the video. In Roberts face you can just see all of the sadness and remorse about Billy Mackenize.

This is a very beautiful song though, I love it.

  • i loovee the cure!!! they roock!

  • this is an amazing song.... i just wish it didn't bring back a weird time to me... the weird thing was- i was high, ate 3 lbs of pizza rolls then watched Cure music videos- this one made me motion sick... so i got sick... i think it was the 3 lbs of pizza rolls though.... damn good song though

  • haha!pizza rolls are awesome!!! and i can see why you got sick!!! but this is such an amazing song!!!!

  • Can't blame you tho...

The Cure + Marijuana = happiness + Pizza rolls= Serinity

However, Pizza rolls x 3 will mess you up , lol

  • I love this song. It's my alarm on my phone. Best band ever.

  • BOW DOWN TO THE LORD ROBERT SMITH every song he writes is how i feel to a tee hes amazing.

  • This song is one of my favorites... Whenever I hear it, I think about everything that has happened :/

    -Blaqk

  • Lead singer Robert Smith is singing about regret, wishing he could go back and make things right, but it's too late. The specific person in the song is his friend Billy Mackenzie, singer of the Scottish New Wave band "The Associates," who committed suicide in 1997.

  • never heard this cure song.. feels like i've found a piece of gold or something!! AWESOME!

  • this is the story of the sadness of the walkaway, the not trying, the hiding from the problems

  • to me about the loss of a loved one. and its comforting in an odd way. I love this song. it rings true.."i miss you, i miss you, i miss you so much,,"

  • this is so sad :(

  • omg this song is amazing, althought it's kinda sad. Robert is an awesome songwriter and singer. The Cure rocks :D

  • ...i wish,if only...

but "if only" is a wish 2 late...

    poetry 4 my soul...

  • 12 years ago Billy MacKenzie took his own life,a combination of self disbelife, depression and heartbreak at the loss of his mother.

Unknown to many Billy along with the Associates made some of the finest songs to come out of Scotland.Very well respected by other artists and much missed by those who knew him.

Tonight I raise a glass and light a candle in his memory as I sit here listening to the music be blessed us with.

    R.I.P The Voice of Velvet

    forever Groovin' with Mr.MacKenzie

  • this made me cry, famousdave and i sorta had the same thing happened. but my best friend just moved far away, and their were so many times i blew him off to do other stupid shit, man I dont think I'll ever forgive myself for that..

  • LOVE IT! :)

  • i love the song and the lyrics...

  • Poor Robert. . . after hearing "A Boy I Never Knew" yesterday, and listening to this now, if I ever meet him, I'm giving him a huge hug.

  • Robert wrote this after kind of blowing off a friend he had not seen in a long time, only to find out a couple weeks later that that friend had died after that.

i recently lost a good friend and this song means alot more now.

    strange...

  • Omg *cries* thats so sad =,( You and Robert need hugs *hugs* :)

  • The song is about singer Billy MacKenzie,Robert has never got over it

Billy was a great troubled singer, breaks my heart to hear this song because is says EVERYTHING that people who knew Billy feel about his passing,r.i.p the Voice of Velvet

    We miss you,miss you,miss you

  • this is the odd moment that we all have at least once with an ex ... the moment we all fear ... great song

  • check out my cover of this song and leave feedback.. im 13

    cheers

    Joeex

LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH <3

  • This was thought as their last song, but fortunalety it wasnt.

It is funny, I'm born 1992 and unitl 1992 they had their best songs. (or the ones that I like the most like Boys Dont Cry, Lovesong, Friday Im In Love, Just Like Heaven, A Forest etc.)

No offense they are a great band, the only band I like from the 80s, they are creative, with a special sound. But I prefere their 'older' stuff (-1992) more.

Anyways The Cure are pure genius.

  • this song reminds me of my best friend...

  • or perhaps someone else ...

  • the cure rules this music is diffidently my feeling music my heart goes out with the music just sounding so lame lol

  • if you knew anything about music and what this song was about you would'nt say that. do a little more research and find out why.

  • whom/what do you mean?

  • the cure modernized, sometimes I think the anciet cure much better, but everything and everyone have to change one day, what cares is that they are keeping their quality, and it is lacking nowadays

  • i randomly came across dis video when i was looking for cures for a cut for my pe homework....

i should let my teacher listen to dis and say dis is what i did yesterday for my pe hmwrk

    ... random

  • THE CURE OWNE

  • Meravigliosi Cure

    Meravigliosa canzone

    Meravigliosi anni...

  • god I love the cure. I dont fully understand how I can go so long without getting tired of them.

  • yup quality cure

  • i feel like an idiot im going through this

  • i like this song

  • Robert Smith is the only member to have kept his funky haircut.

  • Such a beautiful song...

i love the fact that in typical cure style, its about loss, but turned into a love song, so even if it wasn't a lover you lost, you can relate.

    So sad. Almost haunting actually

Robert's like... 35 years older than me, but he has such a sexy voice :)

  • im sorry peter

  • Why they allways have crapy videos, its a great band and all, but all the videos they have are not that great, its like depeche mode, great songs but crapy videos (or maybe its just me)

  • I agree. Most of their videos are dull, but their songs are great.

  • Their new videos may be lame, but their older ones are some of the greatest videos ever made. Pictures of You, Lovecats, The End of the World, Lovesong etc are great IMO.

  • so we meet again and offer my hand all dry and english slo.

and you look at me and i understand its a look i used to know

3 long years and your favorite man is that anyway to say hello

and you hold me lke youll never let me go

LLLLOOOOVVVVEEEE THIS SONG AND LOVE THE CURE

  • I miss you,I miss you,I miss you,I miss you,I miss you,I miss you so much.

    If only...

  • i actually cried while listening to this song & reading the lyrics.

that's so sad, poor robert would have that on his concience constantly, you'd blame yourself.

    good song though

  • i hate the drums!

  • the cure goes techno :) Haha

    i love them,

whatever they do,they do it perfectly :)

  • fuck..im gonna shoot myself now....

  • theyre about one of the only bands who havent got crap with age =] class!

  • Hey, love this song...

    even though it depresses me.

Like a year ago there was this girl that I fell in love with but we didn't know anything about each other and we never spoke.

I wish I had the nerve to talk to her, to tell her how I felt for her.

But its over, and she's gone...

  • There's always a chance.

    Go after her.

This is a song about a friend of his who commited suicide.

  • I really wish there was, but she moved or something...

I don't know where she went to.

He made it about a friend who committed suicide??? Really?

  • Yes, it's about Billy Mackenzie, singer for the Associates

"Oh, come and have a drink with me

    Sit down and talk awhile"

Oh, I wish I could and I will

But now I just don't have the time

And over my shoulder as I walk away

I see you give that look goodbye

I still see that look in your eye"

I read somewhere in an interview with Robert, that Billy was wanting to talk to him about something, but Robert was too busy in his career. Thats what those lyrics are about..never saw him again.

  • Morrissey and Souixie also wrote great songs about Billy.

Do you the seriousness is diminished by the title being an anagram of the band?

  • Hmmm...I really don't know wich are these songs by Morrissey and Siouxsie...can you please tell me?

  • well maybe it's urban myth but William It Was Really Nothing was said to be about Billy but some argue this. ALthough, The Associates did do a song called Stephen, You're Really Something. Both misspelling the names.

Siouxsie did a song called: "Say" with The Creatures I think."I heard the news today, Billy's gone away.."

  • Thanks a lot!

    ''I don't dream about anyone...except myself''.

  • And yeah, this was originally going to be the cures last song. I think he wanted to end this career because he's lost touch with friends/family (Billy for example) and yeah, the song is soo much sadder when you know the whole meaning behind it. =/

Oh and if ya didnt notice, if you rearrange the letters in "Cut Here" you get "The Cure"

  • god. this is a great cure song! they all are. duh. but man i really just love something about it though...its so sad. i mean, listen to the lyrics! it breaks my heart!

  • It is sometimes so hard to find words to describe what you field for somebody, that lyrics like this helps a lot, Thanks again Rob, I love your talent.

  • i love this song--yeah lapoe1 vera magnetic!!

  • this song has something magnetic...

  • I miss you yaz T-T

  • Haydn, you and me from now on X ALW

  • ALW: Sizohamba ukushona kwelanga...

  • HJ please translate

  • ALW: We shall walk at sunset

  • Mark, where were you when I needed you Xx

  • Wonder where Blink got the inspiration for 'I Miss You'?

  • this songs lush, more people should apreciate stuff like this coz its cool, rather than sad (although misery loves company, even in cd form), coz to be fair it puts things in perspective: stuff could be more hopeless, but fuck it:)

  • Haydn told me he thinks of me when he hears this. That makes me sad. I last saw him 31 years ago. I think of Mark when I hear it. I last saw him 2 years ago. Miss him, miss him

  • always reminds me off Dee Johnson. She was a big Cure fan. I loved her and will never get the chance to hold her again.

If you see her pls let her know.

I miss her I miss her I miss her I miss her I miss her I miss her

    so much

    a wish too late???

  • very good song..."I miss you I miss you I miss you

I miss you I miss you I miss you so much "

  • Yup,really brings forth the heartache of Robert turning down Billy MacK for that final drink, brings me to tears every time I hear this song :(

  • I love this song.. especially the keys in it...

  • Fuck, it took me long to find this!!!long time I didn't watch this video.

  • a jewel

  • Cut here...in my heart

  • It's been about 7 years since this song came out & still gets me sentimental. Like a fine wine, the Cure keeps getting better with age.

  • their songs really cure me...

  • That sight in his eyes in 2:55... like he were remembering something...

... something so sad... it makes me cry...

  • He was remembering somthing...Billy....as in Billy MacKenzie!!

The person the song is about

A truely heartfelt song about the last days of a freinds life, the promises made that can NEVER be fufilled.

    We all miss him,so much!

Thanks to Robert Smith for putting it in Lyrics

  • this song ROCKS

    but the video is like

    ugh

  • Never more true, never more painful

  • the cure are the best

  • I like his hair here

  • Even though I'm not a teenager just quite yet, another year, i can defenetly relate to almost all of these songs. robert and i have a lot in common, appereantly. i think thats awesome.

  • Your 12 your saying. You don't even know who you are how can you relate to robert.....

  • no, thats not true! maybe when you where 12 you couldn't, but i can...

  • and i never said i didn't know who i am, and you don't know who i am!

  • Don't be so direct about what he said. It will come in time. In 7 years you will be looking back and you will think to yourself: "wtf was going on?".

Wether you like it or not :)

  • haha, thanks.

  • i love this song -.-

  • This song is amazing.

    Simple as that.

  • This song is so sad.......

  • Excuse me but since when did sexuality matter in REAL music?

  • i agree

  • me too i also agree

  • I think i read somewhere on this comments that because he sang this song he was gay

? This song was about one of his best friends who died a short while after they saw each other on the street. He asked Robert to sit with him for some coffee and robert said he was busy. So he felt really bad..

  • That's so sad :(

I knew the song was about Billy but I didn't know he asked to talk to Robert before he killed himeself.

    That would be so hard.

    I do love this song.

    Gorgeous.

  • There is nothing gay about this song. Whoever made that comment was obviously not listening to the emotion behind it. I lost a good friend and I didn't find out till a year later. I can honestly say that I know the driving factor behind this song. I am living it right now. It is a very sad song indeed.

  • I can relate to it myself, two years ago I lost my dog... she had been there since i was born and now I feel like I didn't love her enough, I took her for granted. It happened while I was on vacation, halfway around the world.

  • thats really touching but sad. i've been through that to with a dog. it was boy named tippy. someone stole him out side of our house. oh yeah, and my hampster too.

  • hm? i thought robert is hetero 'cause wikipedia sais he's got a wife o0

  • who said anything other than the fact that he's hetero?

  • robert should never change anything, just keep giving us what he's feeling...be it 2008 or 2015, don't tell perfect to act like someone else! trent can do whatever he wants

  • simon gaLLUP IS HOTTTT!
