Extremely informative and helpful; thanks very much!
I've followed along binding my AR500 to my DX-7, and the receiver's light went steady which leads me to presume it's bound. However, I get no response from either sticks.
Very well explained... quick question, i removed a receiver from one plane to another when trying to put the receiver back to the original plane.. i cant not get the transmitter and receiver to bind again.. I get no response.. Can you explain how i rebind the receiver with the transmitter?
@gizzle7445 Rebinding should be the same process as referenced in the video. Just make sure you have your bind plugs and model selected on your tx and you're using the bind function on the radio. If you want to give some specifics as to what you have and what exactly is happening I can try and help further!
great video..hey i have a question...on MODEL SELECT how can you accidentally delete info on the tx? i also read this in the manual but not sure on how this could be done?..I DONT WANT TO DO THIS..lol..thanks
@badgolf1 Okay, thanks, found what you're talking about! It's not so much selecting your model, but selecting a different model TYPE - airplane or helicopter. Which makes sense, switching between those two types pretty much negates a LOT of settings from one type of craft to the other. So selecting different model memory slots is perfectly safe, it's only when you manually change the type of craft for that slot that data gets reset. Make sense?
@erkrystof ok so if i have model 1 spot takin with my ufly (heli) and i change model TYPE to plane..will model 1 spot be negated? .... and if i have about 3 model spots takin..2 planes and 1 heli and i want to put in a new model...do i select the model spot first(model 4) then change the model TYPE??..sorry i think i get it just wanna be sure..thanks so much
@badgolf1 Yes, if you did that, model 1 would be reset to default. You're correct on the second part as well - choose your model spot first, THEN change the model type. You got it!
hi, i have a hawk sky, jut got the dx6i and receiver, i put the receiver in the hawk sky and i am tyring to bind it, when i plug in the batt, the light on the receiver is solid not flashing, cant bind, the batt wire is going to the esc and back to the reciever,is this the prob?should i connect it straight to receiver, confused, anyone?
Hi a4tdi140, let's make sure you have the connections setup. The battery should be connecting to the ESC, and the ESC connects to the receiver on the THRO (Throttle) channel. You should put your bind plug in the BATT/BIND channel, THEN plug your battery in. This should put the receiver in bind mode. Let me know if that's how you're doing it and we can take it from there.
The reason you'd use one over the other is determined by the helicopter you're flying. A blade mSR, (a fixed pitch helicopter), would use the 1 servo setting, which is standard mixing. When you're dealing with a collective pitch helicopter like your Blade 400, you have three servos that work with the swash plate and the angle of the blades (since the blades aren't fixed pitch), which is typically CCPM mixing. This requires the 3 servo setting. So 3 is for more complex craft servo mix.
That's why for the sims they have you disable 3 servo CCPM mixing, it confuses the sim since it changes the signals the transmitter sends out (the mixing). If you want to see how it differs, you could try this: If your simulator has a transmitter calibration screen where it shows a set of bars that match how you move the sticks on your TX- try it with your sim model memory with 1 servo and then change it to 3 servo setting, you should see a diff. in how the transmitter is sending signals.
Not a problem! I usually have a separate model memory slot I call 'Sim' just for the simulator, and I use that for any craft I fly, that way I don't mess with any settings for 'real' airplanes and helicopters. I know exactly what you mean on the 1 servo/90 degrees for the sims, glad you're back on track!
Make sure that your swashplate type for that model memory slot is 3 servo 120 degrees. If it's just 1 Servo 90 degrees, that will inhibit/block you from the swash mix menu, since there is nothing to mix.
That's all the word inhibit is meaning here - some other setting you have is blocking your access to the mix menu.
