  • You should make it so the gears, frame and motor are dark like the background that way you can see more of the sculpture.

  • Well if nobody buys anything you could always enter that big guy in the MIT robot comp, he is a ringer for sure.

  • cool squid

  • Great work..

  • eh, would have been better if the wheels were further apart

  • 4:59 ftw

  • lol at the end one it just proves machines are bad dancers and for some reason have genatalia..

  • Wow, talk about brass balls...

  • the one at 6:57 was ok but it drove me mad shortly after

  • Awesome sculptures. I love that case with the fish and the chariot and that huge robot at the end.

  • Wally Hedrick, 1928 I believe.

  • When did kinetic art start and who was the first to do it?

  • @conoba Early Asian civilisations - ten thousand years...

  • Looks like stuff straight out of Dr.Suess

  • OOoooo, this stuff is awesome!! You should also consider hooking up with an artist if you can't draw...all your creations have so much personality to them, I can just imagine each having its own story to be told in short animated skits.

  • I really like the fluidity of the motion in all of your pieces. You said that it's all found objects, but in most cases it's almost impossible to figure out what you used to make them. Do you put a lot of thought into what you let show, because the objects you use assimilate so well. It's great.

  • Yup, its all found stuff, but I'm not really that concerned with whether or not people can tell what the things were originally. I don't use found objects to make a statement so much as to come up with shapes that I would not have thought of making on my own.

  • It's eerie but really beautiful! I love them!

  • boring

  • sexy! and would be more better if with music...

  • funny stuff, interesting design! try this with steam engine..very nice

  • What materials are you using? Cast aluminum?

  • all found materials. lots of old power tools, kitchen stuff, vacuum cleaners.

  • Is a lot of the material for your found art originally from the time period when "art deco" was popular?

  • Some definitely, but mostly stuff from a little later, like the late 1950's. Deco stuff tends to be too nice to push through the band saw.

  • wow, too cool. :]!!

  • This is stupid.

  • saw this in MAKE magazine. it's great to see it move!

  • Tout ce que j'aime! bravo pour ces petits rêves!

  • Very nice!

  • Yes, the1kk, it's a machine. That's generally what kinetic sculptures are...

I really dig your stuff, Nemo. I'm working on several Automata/Kinetic Sculptures myself, quite a bit different than yours. I prefer wood, myself, but I like what you do with smooth metal surfaces. Very cool.

  • thanks. im trying to move into other materials as well. let me know when you post your sculptures.

  • we are the robotz! nice crative job, go further and listen to the KRAFTWERK!

  • isn't that a machine ?
