You guys should work for the government since you took an awesome event and edited down to the most basic information. How hard would it have been to post the whole thing?
But I agree with other critics. That's what you get for not staying on the trails. True karma would have been the truck falling all the way in just as soon as the idiots got out of it.
Looks like you were off trail in the high desert of Ca., so much for treading lightly and staying on the trails, I kinda don't feel sorry for you if you were in fact off trail. If not bummer.
"I kinda don't feel sorry" So anyone who does not agree with you, it is OK if they get hurt? Man am I glad I put people before the the planet. I don't think we should trash the planet, but to care more about some dirt that some people is wrong.
Every trail was not trail before the 1st car ran across it. Then it was a trail.
1st, nowhere did I see that anyone was hurt, if so they have my deepest sympathy and that is a bummer. IF however they were on the TRAIL, they would not have fallen in, the road to the hole is already established yes, but not OVER the hole you idiot. I have a rig I've extensively modified for rock crawling sitting on 38's, so I'm not a tree hugger, I am an avid outdoorsman who does not like fodder like this to be used by the eco-nazi's that are trying to close down existing trails. continued....
Oh, the hole was made by miners 100 years ago or so. So there was no harming any 'virgin' soil because there was already people driving trucks or carts across this land before. By the fact that there was a man made hole, it is proof there was a trail to the hole..
Yes the mine was made long ago, before the eco-fags we have now were trying to shut down existing trails, much less the hopes of cutting new ones you complete and utter buffoon. I suggest you pull your head out for some fresh air realized you have been served and shut up, do some reading about who the idiots who are the enemies of offroad recreation and post your thoughts somewhere and in a way that makes sense. Also, learn to read better, I stated at the end "if not bummer". So ends the lesson.
Tread Lightly didn't apply 100 years ago when it was only John Smith-Bob and his family treading across the U.S in a wagon.
The Tread lightly ideal is aimed to preserve our remaining natural ecosystem. Its our responsibility to stay on existing trails so that we dont kill the precious little groundhogs...
Its all fun until billy-Bob parks the FJ in the hole...
