He wants to serve. Pat Tillman (All Pro Arizona Cardinals Safety) comes to mind as well, but Cavanaugh is an Army Paralegal while Pat Tillman was on the front lines with the Army Rangers.
I joined the Marines after college for lower salary than most jobs but now I make $160,000 a year and I wouldn't have this job without my military qualifications so I can see how it would benefit him. But I think the main thing is that Filter is mainly just two people....the singer and the programmer.
well yeah... but like Even still. Thats Rock stardom! I'm joining Army too cause I want to serve. But if I had the chance to play arena's and clubs every day? theres just no choice there. I would be on that bass in seconds. Besides, a pro military band nowadays would do more good than enlisting. Either way though, it was his decision I guess. I just cant see how he'd choose the service over music.
Best thing about this band is they are from Cleveland like me! Them and Nine Inch Nails are from Cleveland. 2 of the best industrial bands ever

The bassist has way more stage presence than the rest of the band... and by the looks of it he isnt even apart of it.
