Have never really heard Brian sing before. Much heart....I like it.

A lot of people here are saying that Brian's voice isn't up to the task of this song, or that his version isn't as good as the original. Are you all implying that Jeff Mangum had a great voice or something? Because part of what made the original so great was the imperfection of the vocals. I'm saying imperfection... the quality of the original vocals technically sucked. What made Jeff's singing great was that it was all heart. Brian's voice is all heart too. I think this is a great cover.

I have to say I respect Brian as a unique and talented drummer, and he seems to be a decent guitarist. This performance was heartfelt, but it really isn't as good as the original... he really doesn't have the pipes to sing this song.

@SigOne1One I totally second this. He has a lovely voice, but not the best pitch, and not incredible control. I adore them both, but I also see the flaws (in both of them!). That might make me love them more, actually.

I love the Dresden Dolls, but this fucking murdered possibly the greatest lyricism and live take of all time. If you are going to cover such a song, you need to either be really good, or make it yours, this was neither. It was a poor man's version of how Mangum performed it. At least when Palmer does two headed boy she brings something extra to the song, changes it a touch.

Good on him for having good taste though.

If I had never heard Jeff Mangum sing this, I would love this.. however, I can't help but compare... and Jeff just trumps Brian. However, I def think Brian should sing on more Dresden Dolls tracks... and not just background. But it is cool to see that the bands that I love are fans of other bands i love, too.
