Good luck getting certification for a product like this ! the FAA will never allow you to point laser to the sky, in case a plane or any human is around in any flying apparatus. Even if you will have a computer that do image analysis to detect a background interference, it will be hard to prove that a software failure/bug will not cause the laser to fire on anything else other then a mosquito. Interesting Idea though, I had the same idea about a month ago.

Uses of this technology is limited. It still requires special reflective surface in order to work. The mosquito would have to pass between the laser and the reflective fence and be close enough to cast a shadow on it.

If that is the case then it is not different then the currently available electrical mosquito killers that attract bugs with light.

For a moment I thought we had something here.

As far as the tracking software goes perhaps it is based on SwisTrack or similar.
