why would excuses b necessary? If you know boxing at all, you'd know there's a HUGE difference between sparring and an actual match. Neither Valero nor EM were throwing super hard in this, for all you know, Erik may have been working on specific tiny little thing here, or on defense. You can't tell anything from sparring unless it turns into a war. there's a tape out there showing Spadafora getting the best of Mayweather. Do you really think Paul Spaddy has a chance v. PBF in a real bout?

Valero is the real deal! Barrera and Morales have been using him for sparring (or used him) for years. He's fast, strong, and seems to have a good chin. With a little luck, he will be the break out fighter of 2009.

Valero is aging fast. He should be soon fighting Barrera,Morales,Juan Marquez before he quit boxing. He should be easily defeat the Mexican fighters defeated by Pacquiao. Valero could be a great champion but for a short time because he could hardly get good and profitable match with marquee fighters. Morales is way better than Valero, but Valero is quite aggressive which is nice but he's guard is always open. Velero's punch is strong which may lead to a knock out but fighting off with the speed power and stamina of the Pacman, he will definitely lose. I think he should go for Marques first.
