@AndrewNoNumbers I dont have that info but I do know some info; the record for fastest ever text was done using Swype (Guiness). It really is pretty cool, Swype have made an iPhone version I believe just a case if Apple will allow it or create their own version.

@justinyoface911 A lot of times it will come up with the options for different words on stuff like that. But if you slow down or put a little indication on that middle letter it will always get it right without "asking."

@w00tec Because you're going over those other letters, and only stopping on the letters t, r, i, c, k, s as for double letters like "to and "too" or " " wheel" you make a small double movement on those letters. . . .just takes a couple days of messing with it before you do it without even thinking about it . . .

Swype is pretty legit, i have this on my Evo and it does take a while to get used to when you first play with it, but after awhile you get more efficient and it's easier IMO. I did a speed test with my friends, one had a BB, so a qwerty and another touch screen but no Swype, we each typed the same 7 word sentence. I schooled both my friends. We werent testing accuracy but speed. Anyone with an Ipod touch, shouldnt have a problem with Swype

You do a loop on the o to tell Swype it is a double letter for the "too" version of the word. You do a loop on any letter when it is a double letter, like in the word "loop" you would do a loop on the "o". Or "ridden" you would do a loop on the "d".

I have always used texting a lot, and I can honestly say this is the best mobile phone feature I have experienced. Above the fact that it really does work as the many videos show, it is simply FUN.

I feel everyone is putting too much emphasis on typing stuff fast. I think the real benefit that people are totally ignoring is that Swype is much better in the long run because it's has less impact on your thumbs/fingers. I have no pain swyping but thumb typing on my ipod touch is an experiment in pain.

i think that whenever you go over a letter if you stop on that letter, itll pick up the letters. TIPS. hold on T, then swype over to I (pause for a split second) then the swype will pick up the I and then so on.

Yes, that word could be tops or tips, but for one: it is at the beginning of a sentence ( i can think of more sentences starting with "tips" than "tops"), and for two tips is a more common word. the phone enters whatever is more probable.

To answer the "tips vs tops" questions, if you quickly pause your finger over the O or I, it'll recognize that as your choice of letters. Also, if you miss slightly, or if Swype isn't sure which word you're wanting, a little popup will appear with potential matches for what you're wanting. If the first suggested word is correct, you just continue Swyping the rest of your sentence. If it's not correct, you just tap the word from the list, and then continue Swyping from there. You get used to it.

It's very careful with motion, almost as if by magic. If it's really confused about what you're trying to type it opens a little box with options and you click which word you meant

You still have to pause on the letters, so it's actually no better than to just press each letter.

That you can slide your finger from letter to letter doesn't make much difference.

You don't have to pause on letters unless you're changing direction. They just paused on i in the example to demonstrate that you have to pass over it. Watch any video in which they demonstrate this full speed and you'll notice that they don't stop.
