It looks like fun! i really wanna raft it and its crazy i havent considering im named after the river and we used to camp there all the time when we lived in tennessee but havent even gotten to visit the river since my family moved to colorado though there is alot of fun rafting in colorado to!
ahhh the cold long bus ride up the mountain lol see you have to be driven to the top then raft down to the bottom its awesome .. the crazy part is when you start that crazy conveyer belt that brings the rafts to the top its like 100 feet down lol
hey i did this it was sooo fun but hey i think u missed the best part lol it was fun cold though i would do it again any time exept in the winter because i dont think the do it in the winter lol
My football team just went there for a team trip and i can honestly say that was the most fun i've had in my 19 yrs of living. My guide was crazy larry he looked like the turtle off finding nemo. He kept us real safe but made it fun and the same time. Even when i fell out during a class IV rapid i was still smiling. If you do go ask for larry or crazy larry as he likes to be called and tell him monte sent you
I've got me a waterproof helmet camera to record the whole river next weekend :) I'll upload all the footage plus a highlight reel within the next month. Keep an eye out
Me and my cousins and their dads did this a couple of years ago. About 9 or 10 of us if I remember. It was real fun. Our instructor was so cool too. He was always making some sort of joke. He even bailed once when we got towards the end. lol
I don't think I've ever been as soaked as I was when we got off that raft. xD
im a guide so next time you go down the ocoee tell your guide to do a rock split at Slice and Dice. You will for sure flip(if that's what you want)...it's all in the paddle stroke. And if you wanna make yourself flip front load the boat at flipper
Our bunch has done Middle and Upper, but on this particular day, it was Upper. And that is indeed the Ocoee Gondolier.
I should tell you about the camera. The outfitters told me not to bring it. As I took it to my car, I opened the trunk, ruffled some stuff around, then rejoined the bunch with the camera in my pocket. Middle of the next week, the camera died anyway. See, every camera dies. Not every camera truly LIVES.
Unfortunately, I had to stuff the camera away in a Ziploc bag during the good parts. To be honest, the participants from this day are the ones who'll get the most out of this video. But I have a waterproof digital camera now, and I mean to take it on my next trip!
lol thanks! I dont know why I said next month, we already went a few days ago...and a few people ended up forgetting about it, so we only had 10 people. it was awesome though

When I lived in Georgia, my coworkers and I would do an annual trip. I always tried to camp at least one night, even if I was alone.
Now I live in Colorado, and this summer, I am hoping to gather a group to go on one of the amazing rivers here.

True, about me missing the best parts. When those moments come, it's time to put the camera AWAY!

I just had a look at those. Great! Maybe I can do something like that in the Royal Gorge.

Great job on the video....and I can totally understand putting the camera in a Ziploc during the 'interesting' parts!
Did you do the Upper and Middle Ocoee, or just the Upper?
Where did you eat afterwards? It looks like it might be the Gondolier.....
