  • what kind of fuel filter do you use?

  • @SalasKaleb Toyota

  • psshh this summer we loaded down my grandpas 86 toyota pickup 4x4 with wood till there was 1-3 inches between his tires(31s) and the fender and could still go up hill with out having to down gear and it has 430k miles i think but im not trying to talk bad about your truck it looks 110% better then my grandpas rust bucket looks and the hill wasnt that long and i had a good run to it to get enough speed

  • is this a 4cyl ???

  • @ToastyZooYork hahahahaha

  • pulls up hill on rebuild only in 4th??? dude thats weak i had one with 170000 that had 35s on 15x12 and i could run 5th up all hills!!

  • @caseylo2006 bottom end is still all original with 300,000 miles on it...literally. don't be an asshole.

  • @dixiemudtoy hey bro nice toyota i had my 22re rebuilt top end @ 240 k still has orig bottom mine sounds noisy as well my machanic says these engines are noisy tried to loosen valve cover still noisy should i adjust valves dont want to get charged more labor wife is still on my ass about how much i spent about 1100 i have a real clean 1993 2 wd yota cherry like yours let me no bro thanks

  • @dixiemudtoy i guarantee caseylo2006 toyota isnt as clean lol

  • @soldierttown id like to see a video of his factory 22re truck doing just that. I'd give him $100 if he could prove it...until i see it, it's just talk.

  • @dixiemudtoy just about guaranty he has 5.29s and thats at 4000 rpm lmao guy probably doesnt even know what r&p gears he has lol

  • What an awesome finished product. Again, great job!

  • I need some help with some crappy running, the engine was rebuilt about 15,ooo miles ago, it hardly will idle i had a egr light on so I checked the egr and cleaned the vacumm pipe it was clogged, then cleaned the egr modulator, I replace the cat, changed the plugs/wires/and cap it still the same, runs ok on freeway, but it is getting about 40miles to a 1/4tank and the egr light just came back on after 1 day, the 02sensor is original, can it make it run really rough at idle please help

  • @67sober try checking your TPS and timing...that was a gremlin that bothered my truck after the rebuild for about 3 months lol

  • @67sober dont replase everything, find the problem and than fix it

  • what size exhuast piping are you using with the flowy 40?

  • @91trxryder I thought it was a 40 series, but after a closer look i think it's the 55 series...but it's 2.25" pipe. Apparently the 40 series is pretty straight thru, and would sound 3 times as loud as that.

  • @dixiemudtoy How exactly is the exhaust set up? I love that sound.

  • @BigManlyMan4 okay, so i thought it was a 50 or a 60, but apparently it is a flowmaster 40 series...but its a factory manifold, 2.25" exhaust pipe, and the 40 series flowmaster, offset outlet. that's it lol. just bought a tri-y header from stan's headers...so it'll be different soon enough lol

  • @dixiemudtoy do you have a cat?

  • @BigManlyMan4 nope, don't need emissions anymore.

  • @dixiemudtoy It sounds good! I want to put an exhaust on mine. But It would be a pain to make it 2.25 piping right? Id have to weld it all up. How much did it cost?

  • what kinda milege ya gettin?

  • @91trxryder around 17 in town, 33" tires and 4.56 gears. I think i have a bad TPS tho...still running way too advanced. may get better after i fix it.

  • Clean looking truck. Very clean and impressive engine bay for most toyotas these days

  • Sounds and looks so much better. Great job man. Im pickin up a 1995 22re today and plan on restoring it as well. Great job!

  • Again, absolutely beautiful truck. The engine looks and sounds great. Love the painted intake manifold and valve cover too. Sounds and runs like it was rolling off the lot in 86'... If you haven't already installed the header, as a previous 22re owner, I'll tell you that a quick, cheap and simple h.p. gain is with the header. It really helped the mid range, especially running larger tires.

  • what gearing are u running with the 33s?

  • @91trxryder factory 4runner 4.56's

  • i think i got the same cam 440 lift fixin to put er all back toghter soon u use you same springs

  • @floridacracker44 Nope, performance 70lb springs w/ titanium retainers.

  • hey buddy u put you cam in ?? this is new to me all i built is chevys were the valves hard to adjust

  • @floridacracker44 yeah, it's got a 280/.440 cam; valves are pretty simple to adjust, just pop off the valve cover.

  • @dixiemudtoy also when adding excessive lift ya wanna check the spring clearance at full lift. i just got a mild street 270/.424 cam from LC Engineering and upon installation i find there wasn't enough clearance. so i overnighted a new set of LC springs too. they'll be here tomorrow. any tips you wanna mention bout a 22re rebuild cuz i'm close to droppin the motor back in but... any suprises i should watch out for?

  • @dixiemudtoy easy for you to say on the 22re. For me, the 3vze, you have to take the whole damn top of the motor off to get to the valve covers!!

  • nice job man give me ideas for my 22re, sendin it out next week .30 over bore keith black pistons decked and honed maybe a little head work

  • @floridacracker44 sounds good on the bottom end...definitely do the head work, that's where the power is...that and forced induction...lol

  • nice clean truck!

  • Sounds like your idle is a bit low. It should be at 750, not 600. So, just touching or a hair below the 800 line. Otherwise, phenomenal job on the reassembly. Want to come put my doubler roller chain, oil pump, water pump, and new timing cover on? I can do it, but don't feel like it. LOL

  • @FTORC1

thanks man. haha unless you're running a lot of compression (boost) or high RPMs, I don't really think you need a doubler timing chain...however that is something I plan on doing once I get her turbo'd.

  • @dixiemudtoy I have to replace my timing set, and it will get upgraded to the metal backed guides. From a financial standpoint, it's better off going with the double chain conversion. I wanted to upgrade my oil pump and replace the water pump while I was in there. It's an extra $100 for the double chain, metal guides, oil pump, water pump, new timing cover, the double gears, and all the gaskets. That extra is only a difference of double over single, and new cover.

  • @FTORC1

who are you going with for your new equipment? I would advice doing research before going with D&J Rock components, I have heard bad things about them. I almost went with their products and was swayed by more than one top-of-the-line engine shop to avoid them.

  • @FTORC1

I would advice using 22reperformance, they utilize all OEM manufacturers for their rebuild components. BUT, let me know how that doubler runs...put a video up of it if you can, I'd like to see it going in and how it runs afterwards :)

  • @dixiemudtoy I never intended on using D&J. I was actually intent on going with LCE performance. I have had nothing but good quality items come from them. It tends to be a slight bit pricey, but it always holds up really well and a lot of their stuff has a "no questions asked" return and warranty policy. They are who I went with on my cooling system. I'm looking forward to installing their dual row timing set and pro oil pump.

  • @FTORC1

Sweet...good to know someone who has dealt with them first hand. Now I won't have any worries when I go to them for the turbo setups.

  • @FTORC1

Also, is it normal for the 22R/RE to miss every now and then when held at constant RPMs in the range? I dont ever remember my motor doing this before the rebuild. OH, and compression tested the cylinders today just to see how good the bottom end was doing...each piston read 150psi. woot!

  • @dixiemudtoy Actually, the double chain was less prone to breakage on the stock motor, than the single roller. In fact, it came factory on the 84-85 22R's. As far as the miss, I would test the TPS for a dead spot or the O2 may be out of range.

  • @crombieposterboy haha thanks man...if it aint chatterin, it aint running right lol. Plan on readjusting the valves this Sunday.
