  • I was just trying to point out the tonal folly of running time based effects in the manner you chose. Sorry my comment came off as rude. Interesting however that you chose to make an elitist/class distinction dig about your better neighborhood, based on my implied inability to afford one of George's mid-pricey heads. Do you come from "old money" or did your parents make it the American "Enron" way, off the backs of senior's and the great society unwashed?

  • @Purplexi Geez, how do you come to such a crazy conclusion based on such a simple comment.

In the grand scheme of things thats not an expensive "high end" boutique type amp as your well aware, it's a copy/replica of a now expensive amp. So whether you or I can afford it or not hardly requires a political/ideological attack on someone for simply pointing out the obvious.

  • @Metalgod668 I know, I know, worst post reply I ever made. I was in a foul, envious frame of mind, not being able to get my own gear situation together recently. It was wayyy uneccessary and I think I need to apologize to Plexidemo for my pointedly immature comments, seriously sorry here, thanks Metalgod668...

  • Blah, delay before drive! Sorry, not working for amp, tape unit or player. OR...how to sound like Curt Cobain with really expensive gear!!

  • @Purplexi This is Expensive gear? Not in my neighborhood. ;) Relax pal, it was simply a demo to sell the Echoplex, nothing more. Actually, it almost paid for that amp. I prefer playing dry which is why I sold it. Thanks for listening.

  • @PlexiDemo @PlexiDemo If that's not expensive for you, do you mind sending me your gear? :)

  • @Purplexi Remember Ed used two Echoplexes... one pre and one post gain, plus the Univox

  • Too bad these amps don't have FX loops. When amps like this get cranked, the echo doesn't sound as good in front. Nice tone here though.

  • You have a rare Mike Battle Tubeplex Echoplex! Nice...

Is it kind of like the EP-2, but perfected?

Mike hated the EP-3 and 4, said tubes were the way to go. RIP Mike.

  • What kind of speakers did you use here and tubes? :)

  • Listen to that intense feedback from the camera mic being overloaded!

  • More mellow than what ithought the 68 12000 does. TO get the eddie sound which obviously your not going for listen to metroamp 12000 series demo. good tone turn down the delay!

  • Thanks for the feedback. Actually, the point of this short demo was to sell the echoplex, so I recorded it wetter than normal. The Metro just happen to be within reach. For the EVH tone I just fire up an original '67 JMP100 with an EP2 Tube echoplex set to a short slapback. Thanks!

  • Could be more complicated than it sounds since the plexi has no loop. You would probably need a attenuator to bring the amp's output signal back to line level and a power amp to make it loud again.

    Btw, nice demo

  • nice amp did you build it or is this one of George's creations

  • It's an original George creation. He does a great job! I believe this one was #008 of the 12000 series. I recorded this demo to sell the echoplex, then somebody made me an offer on the amp that I couldn't refuse. Thanks for the post!

  • @PlexiDemo what is the difference in the 12000 and the 10000

  • @PlexiDemo Does this amp have an FX loop?

  • sounds remember me eric johnson

  • I don't know what it is, nothing in particular. I just started playing something and was inspired by the tape delay. Thanks!

  • hehe
