its good for new people trying out but i dont really like it if mike from tech pb can shoot himself point blank and nothing really happen to his arm. so i still rather go the .68 cuz for me if it nots going to hurt to know i got hit. then im will more likely going to cheat. cuz i wont feel it.

16 balls broke on the guy. How many shots were actually taken? I couldn't count, but it looks like he fired between 30 and 50 rounds. That's a 32 - 53% break ratio. That's not that good. If he shot just 20 rounds that's an 80% break rate on a soft target.....

Puz you also have to take into consideration that the target fell over, and Bob continued to fire at his old position, even still one too many balls bounced off of the target when he re-aligned his shot.

Just by looking at it I can tell how many shots actually HIT or came really close to hitting Zach, and it seems like a good break ratio to me.

Great video from Bob. Good point about not scaring new/young players off since .50 hurts less. Telling people to 'toughen up' is just stupid, because if they won't then the sport just lost a player. I'd much rather have those players playing paintball than not playing, I don't care if they will only play .50 cal, with chest protectors, neck protectors, full head helmets, with pillows duct taped to their front and back, at least they're playing.

Please note that he states right out loud that .50 cal is not going to take over...

He merely offers the idea that parents and younger players would appreciate the idea that the .50 cal does far less damage than the .688.

The idea is to PROMOTE the sport - not kill the .688 paint. It's easy to say "stop kissing Bobs ass when you're not a field / store owner. Maybe you would think twice when you lost 40% of your profits?

As he said .50 has something but I am ok with .68 . I play mainly pump and cannot overshoot somebody. I also would not recommend the sport for kids younger than 10-12 years . Not because I find the sport itself too dangerous but the potential risk of injuriy when they handle air tanks or do not obey to the safety rules because they are just too young to care enough or understand througly. Thats just my personal opinion.

.50 cal was tried years ago in the '80s and it never went mainstream. it's not going to happen now either. the only people promoting it are the ones who are going to profit from it.

Of course i forgot to add to the previous post that I 100% agree with the fact that .50 cal could bring more people to the sport, so it would make more sense for the fields to make a start and provide .50 cal equipment to people that play for the first time and that might be afraid of the consequences.

i havent seen many reviews on .50 cal to be honest, but two of the things that would make me hesitate would be the shightly less range (probably due to it beeing lighter) and the markability factor(less size = less paint).

oh and also the fact that it less painfull and it does not break as easy could lead to more "immortals" (but this could not be seen as a serious argument, or could it???

Continued: The one thing about .50 Cal that I love (or the idea of) is the ability to carry so much more paint out onto the field with you. I can't tell you how many times I have to walk off the field during scenario games because I'm out of paint, especially with the efficiency of new markers getting so much better.

Kinda makes me rethink .50 cal. I don't know, I'm still on the fence, but at least BOB isn't trying to make everyone go out and spend money on a whole new set-up. I like the idea of a drop in conversion kit. If someone could develope a drop in conversion kit for hoppers, I'd at least try it for a fair assessment.
