  • I cant believe all these dudes that watched Jem, I had 3 sisters growing up and I hated when dat shat came on, especially since those fag programmers sandwiched it between tigersharks & streetfrogs, yes I said streetfrogs, no other cartoon had breakdancing besides transformers, look it up.if u don't rememba, abt TMNT, I remember the 1st season bein h.a.m but then they watered it down to make it more pop, I really dont understand how 1 can f#k up a show where the arch enemy is named The Shredder!

  • Transformers at #6. Stopped watching.

  • wtf was number 3 sorry must been watching thundercats and better cartoons.

  • POLICECOPS

  • Thundercats at #4!?!!!??

  • these theme songs are really dope some rappers or producers should sample these & spit to some of them the transformers shit is so hard & cops is dope a lot of these r really good

  • I had watched a lot of tv as a child, I have watched everything here and so much more. Trust me.

  • the van turning into a delorean was awesome GOD I MISS GADGET

  • #6 OH FUCK YEAH!!! Cartoons aren't what they used to be, fortunately cartoons we remember watching live on in our memories & our hearts.

  • Go Go Gadget Go.....one thing bout the 80's that you dont see now is they made cartoons just for boys and just for girls.... then those was both boys and girls.... you just dont see that any more

  • I liv eon Planet Eatrh ti just loomks liek ive gorttne access to Youtube.

  • I guess if we wnate dto fidn an old cartoon liek this wed have to look for ti at avinatge reocrd sstroe.

  • Here's me: a teenager in the 2010s who remembers any cartoons 1994-present and this is making me wish I'd been a teenager in the 1980s. Yup...even at 17 I still watch cartoons

  • @jcleaverchamberlinjr JC its okay. I remember wathcing all these cartoons, I loved them. Alot of them were inventive. check out the bionic six intro and the GI JOE : movie intro. you'll like those as well. Do you think you will be an animator one day?

  • wuzzles!

  • Thank god we have Internet to help us continue our memories of the 60s-Very early 2000s cartoons.

  • R.I.P 80's Cartoon Thank for making my Childhood ....Fun :)

  • @spidyba you are very right

  • @spidyba dont worry , man, hollywood plans to reimagine all this stuff into movie sin the coming decade. I know what you are thinking right now....(oh noooooo) and I agree

  • "The Raccoons?"

    "Visionaries?"

    "Transformers:season 3?"

  • Uh, hello, GI Joe???

  • dude u forgot he man

  • this is so fucking awesome to me like you can't begin to fathom

  • What's Jem about?

Jeez the old transformers theme sounds rushed, I'm glad they it was updated.

  • I remember i had some action figures for cops and Thunder-cats,i hated transformers cartoon while everybody like it and hated Jem cartoon while my sister liked it.

  • no m.a.s.k.???????

  • aww shit Duck Tales lmao!!!

  • back when intro themes mattered

  • Lolyeah the Thundercats intro. It was the best part of the show xD

Oh, and the Transformers season 3 opening is a hell of a lot better.

  • thundercats XXD I still think u can do a nice elctro track out of that melody

  • I hated Inspector Gadget, he was too stupid for me to stand. Also, it repeated for years so got old quick. Completely forgot Beverly Hills teens even existed.

    Thanks.

  • The Golden Days!

  • I'll get you Gadget!

  • Was I the only one who figured out Penny was the one REALLY solving the crimes? And the Thundercats theme is giving me so much LIFE right now. What cartoon these days has that much energy in the theme alone? And Mumm-Ra awakening in a fit of rage = DONE.

  • @TowelTroi

I thought it was made quite clear that Penny was the one who solved the cases. ONly gadget never figured it out.

  • The woman who sings 'Jem' has a Suzanna Hoffs quality to her voice.

  • Something as epic as COPS followed that piece of crap on #9? And where's ninja turtles? Ghostbusters? Gummibears?

  • 2 things I had to deal with in the 80's: not giving the silly rabbit a bowl of Trix and not seeing the bad guys face on Inspector Gadget

  • Holy crap, the Beverly Hills intro made me nostalgia hard. Haven't heard that since 1993...

  • Wtf ,Where are the ninja turtles!?!?!?! D:<

  • i call bullshit on ducktales that should of been number 1

  • Silverhawks is only 3?? Nonono! Thats the best Intro ever!!

  • THE GUMMI BEARS THEME IS THE GREATEST THEME OF THE 80S, YOU MORONS

  • @TheMontross To this day I still have the gummie bears themse song(the extended and the cartoon one) on my mp3 player; I listen to it at the gym! Glad i am not the only one who likes that the best!

  • @TheMontross except gummi bears is from the 90's

  • No ghostbusters, he-man, she-ra, or MANY others

    You fail

  • No Real Ghostbusters!?!?! Blasphemy!!! Heretic!!!

  • i HATE alvin and the chimpmunks. always have annoyed me, always will. otherwise, respect for putting duck tales and inspector gadget in there i think thundercats should've been higher up the table, but that's just my taste talking

  • i watched all of the cool cartoons from my past to see Alvin and the bloody chipmunks i was think it might be Heman or jyce and the wheeled worriers heck even unlasess 31

  • Inspectorg Gadget!.. nanananana! Whoo-hooo!

  • muppets babys?

i did like the inspector gadget though.

  • #4. SKELETOR "I know that show bitch. It's much better then the one you have for our show"

  • Great job on this list!!

  • Duck Tales :) I love this cartoon

  • Duck Tales :) I love yhis cartoon

  • I remember watching Beverly Hills Teens with my sister. I am actually almost tempted to go get out the 2 vhs we have of it

  • Good job, a tip when editing though - make sure the sound levels are the same!

  • Siiilveeeeeeer haaawks!!!!

Easily the best one in this list! It had so many music references in this show, like that guy with the giant tuning fork!

  • i feel soo poor

  • even though i was born in the late 80's i still remeber all these shows but 3 of them and it sucks that optamis died on my brithday too but lots of great shows that they should bring back

  • Jem was one of the best song's! Not really young kid appropriate now that I've watched it on the Hub.

  • @wpjaxon

Come on. I watched Jem when I was little. It's fine for young kids and older kids. It's better than Spongebob.

  • JEM?! WERE YOU HIGH DUDE? O.o

  • Heck yes! The other "Cops" show was awesome!

  • im a late 80's early 90's child all cartoons from 80's and 90's rock ass

  • now i know who to blame for hannah montanna *heart pierceing stare*makers of jem >:( but i have to agree with the top 6

  • thundercats was the SHIT. kids today have no idea what they have missed out on

  • @idesofmars no i hated thunder cats accually

  • MAJOR props for the chipmunks intro. by far catchiest theme of the '80s (aside from TMNT ofcourse)

  • Tell me ı dare you, who didnt want Gadget Mobile

  • Huge thumbs up for the muppet babies. Even bigger thumbs up for the guitar riffs in Thundercats.

  • Comment removed

  • old thunder cats > new thunder cats

  • but duck tales is olso very good

  • inspector gadget nr. 8 is one of the best theme songs from the 80´s

  • Transformers #6? I think Transformers 1984 was the greatest cartoon of all time. Also, I am surprised not to see Masters of the Universe and Mask up there. Transformers has out lasted the other cartoons to this very day. None of the other 'top ten' cartoons were able to make three live action movies making over 300 mil each.

  • i really cant take this list serious if jayce and the wheeled warriors isnt up here

  • why does everyone think that everything as babies is better but its really just stupid like baby looney tunes, theres a reason why it got cancelled

  • Does nobody have any love for the Spider-man animated series T_T?

  • #6, #4, and #3 definitely deserve to be on there. Since my daughter loves them so much, I can live with #1 being on there as well. I'm surprised He-Man and the Masters of the Universe didn't make the cut as well as M.A.S.K.

  • growing up i loved watching Inspector Gadget/Thundercats/Capetian Planet/Ninja Turtles/Transformers/Popeye/ Muppet babies/Spiderman/PBS show Zoom/ and many other cartoons and shows. im glad im a 80s child even tho i was in 88 im glad i got to experience what kids now and days ignore witch is being a KID

  • Thunder cats #4 wow it's ur opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • Ahh - a few I had forgotten! A great list. I had forgotten how good the Chipmunks intro was - as well as Inspector Gadget. But you got most the best ones for sure!

  • No love the Robotech opening? WTF?

  • I completely forgot about Beverly Jills, lol. Jem theme #1, followed by Cops, then Thundercats, Dinosaucers, and Voltron are my top 5. Great post :)

  • @Termite30 OMG!!! I forgot about dinosaucers!!! I LOVED that show!!!!!

  • No saber riders ???

  • TRANSFORMERS,COPS and Alvin and the Chipmunks are the best for me, like everybody here. They're my childhood

  • Here's the full scene 3:05

  • I swear I guess it's not just Back To The Future. But look at 3:07 seconds the car transforms into Delorean.

  • @ShipsHaven I say take out silver hawks & put in gi joe..

  • @picturemecreepin not a big fan of that song

  • JEM opening with Me and my friends are Jem girls was so much better. more up beat and 80s sounding

  • omfg thundercats HOOOOOOO!!!!!! XD

  • uuuum Jayce and the wheeled warriors???? Excuse me whats wrong with this video??? Its a travisty of injustice that Jayce isnt number 1... I DEMAND a recount..Thats it I'm calling oprah she wont have this sh!t...

  • what is the 2nd one i want to now ??????

  • Anyone here remember Denver the Last Dinosaur?

  • sorry but where is visionaries!!! was a class tune

  • @g0rill433 visionaries didnt have a tune. it was a guy talking

  • How did inspector gadget survive that bomb? Thats bothering me now lol

  • For some reason, watching the inspector gadget intro makes me want to watch Lupin III

  • Jem should have been way higher in the list! Especially now that she's making a HUGE comeback on TV. On May 28 The HUB Network is running a marathon of the series with the first 7 episodes, and will be back in full rotation!

  • @zangazoo2007 I agree, that was my favorite one, not just for the song, but for the animation that went with it ;)

  • @Termite30 Yeah. What's even cooler is that since I posted that message 3 months ago, Jem is officially being released on DVD from Shout! Factory. Just go to their home page and see for yourself. :-) I think the animation from the 80s is better. Back then everything was hand drawn by talented artists. I think the whole CGI world has taken away from the traditional. I mean The Little Mermaid was the last movie made hand drawn. Sure it takes skills for CGI, but using a pencil to draw rox!

  • WOW....I ahd forgotten all about the Beverly Hills Teens...LOL

  • Thumbs up oif you think Gonzo is the best Muppet ever!

  • forgot the main one He-Man

  • I Love Inspector Gadget, and now I have kids I have introduced them to it as well and they love it too.

  • i wanna win the lottery so i can bring back all of these shows , to one station

    only airing on saturdays

I mean everything , yes even the carebears , and my little pony and rainbow brite.

  • The C.O.P.S. action figures were awesome.. They were friggin huge!

  • This just made my day

  • that does it, I want a real action movie of COPS and Lawrence Fishbourne(I suck at spelling names) should be bulletproof! any one with me??

  • Silver-hawks could of been better, I wish the animation from the intro matched the show. It's kinda funny though, it was a adaptation off of Thundercats.

  • @Ben1977820

It's about impossible to put that much effort in animating a weekday syndicated series using cell animation.

There's a reason why most syndicated cell animated cartoons used relied heavily on stick animation (like He-Man and Smurfs).

  • I was showing a guy at work some of these intros, he didn't know maybe more then 2...wow did I feel old.

  • i used to watch cops, gadget , transformers, thundercats had the best theme. great animation and the show was Awesome. Silver hawks was good too i remeber always watching those 2 shows together. duck tales was fine, i liked that they used scences from the show, i also like Darkwing duck which was a branch off of that show

  • 'Ducktales' had a great song, but the opening sequence itself was weak. It just used scenes from the actual show. For my money [and I know we all have different favourites], I'd put the 'Thundercats' opening at #1. That thing was beautifully animated. I think I enjoyed the opening more than the episode some days. I also preferred the 2nd 'Chipmunks' opening, the one where they're getting ready to go on-stage.

  • If the screen kinda shakes right after the Holograms grab Jem in a Drive-By Snatching... does that mean they crashed the Rockin' Roadster? xD

  • Anyone else wish their parents car was the Thundertank?....oh and I had a major crush on Cheetara...sad I know..

  • Only thing I remember from the Muppet Babies is when they'd open a door and Darth Vader would be standing there or a tie fighter would be shooting at them. I wouldn't have put Alvin and the Chipmunks as #1 but to each their own. Good list and thanks for the memories

  • Guys, can you help me? I want to know the titel of this cartoon: a dark-haired boy and a blond-haired girl, named Peter (boy) and Joan (girl) have monsters that are based on items that you use at the office like a stapler (purple monster), tape device (orange monster) and punch unit (blue monster). The bad guys having a logo that looks like the S from captain Scarlet only rounder.

  • @pessie83 Diplodo.

  • i had a crush on Jem when i was like in the 1st grade. LOL

  • Some of these series were crap, but the themes are indeed some of the best. Nice selection.

  • silverhawks, boba fett's relatives :D

  • Sorry for the double post but looking thru the comments I notice not a single person gave any love for Inspector Gadget! Awesome cartoon!

  • @luvmenow33 It was an awesome cartoon, even if the title character was an idiot and the day was always saved by his neice and dog.

Dr Claw was a great 80's cartoon villen as well

  • @luvmenow33 Brain was the bomb. I loved that dog.

  • The reason that the 80's cartoons are so good is that they we're made by the acid heads of the 70's.

  • @luvmenow33 cool ur right never thought bout that

  • Oh, my God. I totaly forgot The Muppet Babyes. I Remember the intro now. When I saw it I had a smile on my face from ear to ear.

  • tigersharks

  • thundercats & sylverhawks were the best!!!!

  • does anyone think of robin sparkles when they saw the jem theme now? haha

  • thumbs up for muppet babies

  • great list!

  • oh man Cops had the BEST action figures ever for the time.

  • the woman on muped babies must have slept with alot of bisar creatures

  • @KattenEurope hahahaha, you're gross.

  • muppet babbie cops wicked i am sick so going to sit aroound and watch some old school cartoons

  • SILVERHAWKS!!!! That Hawk screech has gotta be the single most epic thing i've ever heard

  • @HihiouZabimaru182 i remember i had a hawk toy that shot projectiles from the mouth and wings, that thing was awesome

  • MUPPET BABIES! FTW!!!!!

  • I watched alot more 80's cartoons than I realized I did as a kid O_O

Seriously 80's and 90's were the best eras for cartoons..

  • .....Am I hearing the word LOL in the Chipmunk theme song at 10:00? It's totally blowing my mind right now! :O

  • The one from Cops is Piccolo's voice.

  • Muppet Babies??? lol

  • I would have him arrested on the basis of bein called Big Boss

  • the 80s they dont make em as good as that any more lol cool list, pity they dont let ya put turtles on though

  • COPS that cartoon takes me back but u forgot Tigersharks, Ronin Warriors

  • Very Nice Collection!

Positive Criticism: Never saw or got into Beverly Hills Teens, so I'd replace it with Heathcliff; I love that show and the theme's got a more driving beat. I'd also switch around number one and two based on the catchiness factor.

Postive Comments: Thank You for including everything else in this montage. I can remember trying my best to learn every theme that had words, and every show theme had a driving beat that I could move to. Overall, a beauty of a collection!

  • "COPS" theme song sounds like "AIRWOLF"

  • transformers theme wasn't really that great....sounds like some 60's batman like theme with robot noise. The movie version was way better. Not that we really paid attention to that back then tho.

    Probably best one is thundercats

thunder thunder thunder thunder CATS! kekeke

  • Alvin and the Chipmunks...i gta admit, it does hav a great song and intro. But my #1 will always be Thundercats

  • Love nostalgia trips.

Lemme see...the only ones out of all these that I never watched were Beverly Hills Teens (sooo cliche) and Silverhawks.

Anyway, my personal faves were TMNT, C.O.P.S, Inspector Gadget, Jem, Transformers, Thundercats and Ducktales. After over twenty have passed, I still love these shows! Thanks for posting this cool montage.
