This takes me waaaaaaay back! Especially when I first heard this tune one Saturday evening in 1991 on the radio before getting ready to go spin a set. It was played on CKLN 88.1 by Neville on Malik X's radio show "The Sound of London" in Toronto.
"I get hiiiiigh, I love gaaanja" ....or am I hearing it wrong?
Love the bleeps. Bleeps are cool when you're on acid. I love bleeps so much I onced danced to the sound of a kidney dialysis machine. Got tangled in all the wires though.
@CharlieSmigz I used to go to club uk years ago and the water pipes burst and the fire brigade turned up - people were dancing in the street to the sound of the sirens! Mental! What you did was pretty bad though! ;op
@AmandaLomas1 club Uk was on my doorstep and i didn't appreciate it proper! My bu DJ-ed at Bagleys a lot- i didn't appreciate that either. I loved dancing-i loved babes in toyland-handbag music. On saying that, i have kept this 12" vinyl in my closet and i am playing it tonight-so that says a lot about this tune, it's amazing! x
dan donnelly owned "BOOGIE TIMES/ SUB BASE"....was a good shop, use ta buy nuff hip hop there...wats dan donnelly doin these days...boogie times = sadly missed!!!
Man this takes be back to the days before the criminal justice bill!! Been trying to remember the one that went... "I'm on a high, don't know why, must be the music, can't refuse it!" Anyone help?
Great post, thanks. Wasn't Suburban Base based above Boogie Times Records in Romford? That was the local legend anyway! Does anyone have the 'B' side to this? It was called 'After the Dance' and was a classic come-down/chillout tune.
Surburban Base records was owned by Danny Breaks who also owned boogie times in Romford. Takes me back to being 15 and hanging around collecting flyers!

it's a shame around 1994 hardcore was losing its breakbeats to make way for 4beat/happy. this is the real deal when it comes to REAL HARDCORE.

Can't believe I found this. Haven't heard it for about 15 years. Possibly the best bleepy techno track ever. Had it on an old Lomas tape from 1991.
