I don't think so! I think Silent Hill is far creepier than Resident Evil. Sure, Resident evil has scary mutated beasts, zombies, spiders, etc... but that is as far as the developers take it; mutated animals/humans. Silent hill ventures in a different direction; Not only does it deal with mutated freaks but also explores into the "supernatural" (ghosts and spirits). My opinion; putting it into plain and simple words: Resident Evil's creatures are predictable; Silent hills are "not."
@TheGodmode680, well if you think into the monsters they cease to be "mutated animals/humans," but men and women who have lost their humanity and been cursed (if you will) to wander aimlessly in search of a way to regain their mortality (i.e., eating the living flesh they no longer have). I don't mean to start anything....just sharin' my opinion ^^;
@TSTACKSPAPER I know they may still to this day be the most amazing look and feel to a game I have ever seen. But for me the original still holds a special place in my heart, especially the voice acting.
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new electronic album “Sub-Zero” which is heavily influenced by the world of Resident Evil and the music of Masami Ueda and other RE composers. If you're interested you can listen to the full album on my youtube channel, as well as download the album for free!
It's funny to think worried parents are convinced their children listen to pure shit, wether it is the last "RnB" (shooting) star or a "rock" band made of kids covered with make-up and drooling milk. Maybe gthic organ notes would scare them more in a way! Now I'm a eat me some raw bats.
I'm beginning to thing we stereotype organs as just a scary instrument...idk, it's pretty dissonant, so i guess that invokes a feeling of fright, but as far as it goes it was just okay...

@kr4ter182 I don't think it was in any of the games. Which is a shame because it would have gone well in REmake.
