MPC 1K, wow! That sounds like a rhyme or something I'd hear in a rap lyric. The MPC is not strictly a hiphop tool. If everyone was as "close-minded" as you then music would have stayed the same since the bach/beethoven era. In case you haven't noticed hiphop/rap has now become pop/commercial. As for the "It wasn't even in key" comment, there was nothing for it to be in key with.

Somebody using MPC midi sequencer! It's still rare, even on youtube. And - I like productions which shows that MPC is not only for hip hop.

I like the idea but more random & agressive beats are needed. Also - try to use your melody in some arp and try modyfing it while arpegging. It could be awsome!
