what a terrific interview, especially with Ms. Sills' passing two days ago. She is confident, commanding, articulate and artistically brilliant. But she's also a mother who took time off at the peak of her career to give her daughter every possible opportunity to learn and overcome her disability.

To think that her daughter never had the priveledge of listening to her mom's gorgeous voice is beyond me. Was she completely deaf? She obviously was a lip reader.

Isn't that heartbreaking! She seems rather well-adjusted, nonetheless.
