Yes, they were all killed. They were taken 20 km outside Phnom Penh to a "killing field" and beaten to death. There's a buddhist tower there now, with layers of their bones.

Some were arrested merely for having a book, or wearing spectacles (the sure sign of an 'intellectual'. Some foreigners got caught up in it too. Same fate. So terribly sad.

I was silent when I left Tuol Sleng. It was like there was nothing left to say.

Its sad to say. I haven't heard of Tuol Sleng until broad casted on discovery channel. Then after asking my mom about it, I found my self dumbfounded to find out that , that's where my grandparents died. I really want to go visit Cambodia and all, but I'm not acquainted with death.

very eerie indeed, I happened to go solo on my visit there, and I was quiet the whole time. I could feel something that was indeed an energy. The pictures of the people seem to stare into your own eyes...God rest their souls.

Went to Cambodia last year...but didnt have the heart to go there, even though I've read so much about the Pol Pot period. I regret not going to Tuol Sleng, but I know I would have been disturbed for a very long time. God bless the victims' souls and may we pray that something so tragic never happens again anywhere.

You don't know your own history. In 1968 Cambodia was at peace under Sihanouk, the Kkmer Rouge were 3,000 hill billies in Ratnakiri province with hardly any support. Over the next five years, Nixon put Lon Nol in power (a murderous, corrupt buffoon) and sent B-52 to bomb the countryside back to the Stone Age. Peasant boys joined the KR in the thousands, burning with revenge...they took it after 1975
