See, here's the catch- it depends on what one may consider to be "famous" in nature.

To me to be famous *is* to be immortal, and there are a plethora of others who are recognized in even in this day and age. Those of whom you speak that "ppl never heard of" weren't probably famous to begin with.

Ppl still remember Charlie Chaplin, Josephine Baker, Mozart, etc.

And I believe that ppl like Brad Pitt or Tom Hanaks will be remebered forever. It all depends on the impact they have on society.
