Sublime showcase of true talent. Johnny is legendary but Susan did not let that diminish her formidable talent. Her tone and ability to sing harmonic rings around the melody is stunning and when she belts...look out, its the real thing. Superb clip.
susan anton is so gorgeous. i will never understand why her career wasn't bigger. she certainly got a lot of grooming and promotion. there was her movie, goldengirl, where she was somewhat of a bionic woman--a genetically enhanced super athlete. she did such a wonderful job with the theme song to goldengirl. i loved the series cliffhangers which featured her in a segment called stop susan williams. i wish they would released that series in a remastered version on dvd.
I loved his voice the most in his late 30's and early 40's , it was sealed in by then ,although it would never have disappointed me if he had never made a duet recording with anyone, I like Johnny best when he sings alone
I can remember seeing this when it was broadcast...my father and I sat absolutely astounded by this pairing...Susan is gorgeous...who knew she could sing HARMONY with Mathis? Unreal and beautiful...Thank you for posting this...a treasure to be sure and a lesson for al these so called singers today...THIS is how you do it.
WOW - Johnny is so talented and good looking with such a beautiful voice. Always get a great performance from Johnny Mathis, he is such a perfectionist. Love him. Thanks for sharing this rare video!
I cannot stop watching this vid!! I always knew Johnny was amazing and classy...but Susan can sing her behind off!!! My family used to watch all of her specials, but I guess I was too young to realize her talent. I hope to see her on T V in something current!
Love this video which I had never seen before. Johnny could not have known that he would still be performing(brilliantly)more than 30 years later. Thanks for showing us this.
