Society is actually a personality cult because there is always some social norm (enforced by the people in power aka the media) that the majority conform to. There is always a belief (whether that be secular or religious) that people allow to control their life (i.e., jihad in islam/the church/sex drugs rock n' roll life style)

well,I think the parents are actually...Not that bad,haha.They don't cane their children as far as I see,which is great.I think by shielding them,they are trying to let them understand what really is 'good',to have them focused on it.They shield them so they don't have to see their daughter get pregnant at 16,or see their son get beaten up by a gang,or see their other daughter get sent to a home...America is a bad place,and what they're doing seems right in the circumstances.

@ButterflyMumma You can raise your child in religion you believe in - which is healthy and good. But in the end - sheltering your children and taking away their deserved freedom is wrong too. Then these two brats have had nothing but freedom, which is wrong. So these two put together - teach religion perhaps an hour a day, let the children go to public school to study - let them enjoy their times with friends. But do let them fall and get up instead of being naive when you become independant.
