Pink Floyd is not Rock Music, it is modern day classical music. Just as Beethoven wrote the 9th symphony with lyrics (Ode to Joy) so too did Pink Floyd write classical music with lyrics.

I do believe you are correct. There is no comparison, and that would make them unique unto themselves! I have been on the receiving end of their magnificent music since the first album ever done with a Pink Floyd label. The result has been that most of my adult life has been immensely enrichened for the experience- They are the absolute masters of the art of music that touches the soul! You listen to the guitar that starts at 7:35 of this cut-tell me that's not so special.

this is the music i want my kids to listen to. When my first son or daughters born, i want the to ask me "daddy, what kind of music did you listen to when you were a kid?" and ill play darkside of the moon, animals, wish you were here, and the wall all in a row... thats when they know that rock is good. Pink Floyd is the most mystical and influential band. Psychedelia mixed in with some life lessons is the best music ever.
