I'd be intimidated just to hold Mr. Brent Mason's guitar, let alone sit across from him while playing it...that thing can get about 38 different tones just by flipping switches and pulling knobs,,let alone whatever's in your fingers...the young man, Nick Goodwin, is an awesome player,,he has some tasty playing and is obviously going to be a monster!

Awesome video. Just 2 cats hangin' out in the studio. Brent Mason is incredible. The kid does great too. If I were in his shoes I'd be terrified and crap all over the place. Kudos to him for doing a great job beside an amazing talent like Brent Mason.

Hey give the kid credit. For his age, I think he held his own against one of the, if not the, greatest session men in Nashville.

Small tip here from a fourth rate guitarist. In order to play those chops like Mason, you have to finger pick. Flat picking by itself just won't do it.

jamesskb - that's right, you gotta get a few strings ringin' at once for that pedal-steel effect.

Brent's great with those chromatic sequences, as all the good pickers are. That's what I gotta work on next...

Was that video done when Danny Wells was producing demos? I think I was there that day, I know Brent was there... and I vaguely remember walking in when they were just jammin- it was last summer too... that made me more curious! I think the studio was The Listening Room... or something like that.
