Old creatures die out sure, but tigers have gotten help from humans, in the past 70 years 3 tiger species have gone extinct because of deforestation&poaching. There is definitely ways to help&prevent tigers from going extinct. If you like tigers so much I would consider actually doing something about, rather than being complacent about their demise.
How old is this documentary?? The usage of tiger bones for medicine have stopped tremendously in East Asia. They did well in educating village & mountain ppl who were once set in their ways. China has been doing their part and have been protecting tigers since ther early 90's by also building a "huge" sanctuary for them and keeping them well fed. @avhuaman if you had actually watched the beginning of the documentary, you would realize that the people her are actually doing reserch about these beautiful animals, so that they can figure out a way to save them. Collaring or chipping the tigers allows them to keeptrck of their whereabouts and habits in an unobtrusive and safe manner for both the scientists and the tigers. And if you listened to them, you'd know that before anything else they make sure that a captured tiger is uninjured.

The thing is Siberian Tigers are being protected in the area, apparently China has a massive area up in the Heilongjiang for Siberian Tigers conservation since 1986, with about 1000 tigers (although I am not sure how effective it is...).

it really hurts to see the tiger caught at the tree in the beginning :/ but in the end it'll help... you might not see the reason to do it, and you might say we should leave them alone, but the more they know, the more we can help... and yes they have survived for thousands of years, but look at the facts! in the past 10 years, the tiger population fell with 60%! they can't survive on their own!

@avhuaman if you had actually watched the beginning of the documentary, you would realize that the people her are actually doing reserch about these beautiful animals, so that they can figure out a way to save them. Collaring or chipping the tigers allows them to keeptrck of their whereabouts and habits in an unobtrusive and safe manner for both the scientists and the tigers. And if you listened to them, you'd know that before anything else they make sure that a captured tiger is uninjured.

Mao Zedong declared them “enemies of the people” and their wild population are almost gone, but you can't blame the entire nation just for one man's decision. Most Chinese do respect (or fear) tigers.
I believe China at the moment do have re-wild programme for South Chinese Tiger.

@TaInTeDlYnX what I mean is Siberian tiger and human can't really live together in the first place, especially with the massive population in China, it is bound to crush. And I don't think it's correct to 'blame the Chinese', not everyone are poachers.
The thing is Siberian Tigers are being protected in the area, apparently China has a massive area up in the Heilongjiang for Siberian Tigers conservation since 1986, with about 1000 tigers (although I am not sure how effective it is...).

@a1d2h For one the tiger gets a scare of its life as it cant protect himself, as my feeling the tiger may do so, i say that tiger will trigger a some sort of trauma after that and therefor make it a even difficult task to "save" the tiger. Why still do this and knowing you will scratch "leaving a mark" on the tiger? Because it's extincion or to greedy to do so ?
