Sephiroth is not rememberd the way he is becouse he was an amazing antagonist.

Its becouse when ff7 came out no one had ever seen a villian presented so well. The cg cut scenes were mindblowing back then and only reinforced how epic he was. In hindsight he was kinda a douche. But if u combine the music.. the cgi.. the feelling of being lost becouse of the convoluted story lol.. it adds up to a terrific gaming experiance.

Sephiroth was a horrible villain. And unsuccessful in his goals, as well. Kefka.. THERE'S a villain. Kefka set out to become a god and destroy the world, and he succeeded in both. Sephiroth saw a severed head that he thought was his mom and burned down a town.

Man, in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 he was a BEAST, but in FF7 - I don't know how - I managed to beat his last form with a party of Cloud and two characters "frogged", and it even wasn't that hard... It was my first, regular playthrough of a game, so my chars weren't even like lvl 95 or something...

I think the reason Sephiroth made such a huge impact on people isn't because he was the hardest to beat but because he represents and embodies everyone's worst fear. That being the greatest person you looked up to becoming your worst living nightmare, that tries to take everything you love and never truly "dies". And every time you think "I've finally beaten it" he finds ways to make you regret everything again. If you look at all the games, anime, and movies that is exactly what he was to Cloud

Sephiroth has a rotation of abilities and can be beaten by the lowest possible level characters at that point in the story by simply countering his scheduled abilities accordingly... hardest boss ever made my foot. Go fight some last boss heroic raid fights in WoW and then talk difficulty.

@Bennuist Well, it is actually pretty simple, like you said to each his own. But considering that during the course of Final Fantasy VII Sephiroth has very few lines of dialogue and the few scenes in which he has some character development are vague, like during the Nibelheim incident, previously to going insane. Ultimately is hard to tell if Sephiroth is indeed himself or just another of Jenova's forms. I just find other less important characters to be more interesting and developed.

I remember him to be one of the easiest bosses ever, right followed by Omega Weapon from FF8.

I mean, beating Sephiroth isn´t that hard if you go on him with Knights of the Round and Mime (use double summon with Knights of the Round and use Mime afterwards --> done). And Omega weapon is too predictable to be any danger for any party.

I think there's someone/thing that would like to have a word with you - Emerald Weapon :) Emerald was - hands down - the hardest boss ever in all of the Final Fantasy Series, even with Knights of the Round equipped. If Sepiroth made you visit a psycologist, then you better don't try Emerald Weapon - you might lose it forever.
