The 2011 Macomb County Lip Dub Challenge used this video as its example. We all pretty much agreed it's one of the best lip dubs out there. Somehow GVSU was able to produce a Lip Dub that is 100x better than Grand Rapids, without the listing of sponsors at the end. The fact people paid to sponsor that garbage is an absolute joke.

If people took their GR blinders off, they would realize the video for what it is: a mess. This, on the other hand, is very well done!!!!

@Therzonly1keano One is a school with all the audio and video equipment at the ready and the other was private citizens who needed to hire and rent film crew and equipment. Also a campus is easier to film on then public streets. Besides that they were both good. But GR was better because it was a larger and harder task to pull off.

The issue is the people who obviously don't know the words to American Pie, the horrible song choice of American Pie (too slow), and their attempt at being too big for the scope of a lip dub. Say what you want about size, but I am judging on quality.

Note that GVSU sponsored the GR video. Two great lipdubs from a place I think I want to experience.

@MegaMoose1989 Not really. They filmed this in the middle of the day with students having normal classes and needing to get to them. Yes, GR is huge and highly populated but if we're talking people per square mile? GVSU is way more densely populated, I'd guarantee.

You are ridiculous. Cut them a break. This is incredible what they were able to do in ONE take. Grand Valley is a mostly white school. That's just how it is. It's not racist, it's not like they said "we want mostly whites in this". It was an open tryout and they have in no way, shape, or form, an obligation to have diversity in it. I guarantee if Grambling did a lipdub you wouldn't be saying "could you please have more whites in it". No one has an obligation to show diversity, ever.

My only wish was for GVSU to feature some minorities with solo parts. The video doesn't show any diversity at all (besides the stereotypical gospel choir). Flags just doesn't make the campus diverse. Please make a conscious effort next time.

I was surprised to find this video posted on Dennis Deyoung's website.
