@werkspoortje no he's not... how can you say that? he says he saw this one guy a long time ago... You're putting an interpretation on his exact words which doesn't exist...
Interesting that you write "Shalom" at the end which means "peace be with you" (maybe) and yet judge someone in your earlier sentence...?
He's not showing "anti-semitism" (i.e. hatred of the Jews)... At the very worst you could say he's showing a misunderstanding of Jewish practice...?
@werkspoortje yeah, he is disrespectful here. As much as I can, I apologise for him. He doesn't understand the prayer tradition, and the disrepect of Torah-observance is disrespect of God himself. He's making a cultural gaffe, and it's ignorant. It's not hate - it's just plain stupid. So, sorry.
We should all love God's law, Jesus made that clear, even as he showed a new way to fulfil it. Mocking the old way is shallow, unloving, and unChristian.
Sorry to interrupt a massive debate below but this video has just come at the right time for me!
I've been putting off prayer and time with God because I find it hard to pray more for 'long enough' but God's grace is that we get to pray, whatever, whenever, wherever. Amen! Thanks Pastor Mark!
Err...I didn't like the jewish-prayer rant... Is there any constructive thought in replacement-theology at all?? What is the point of debasing the hebrew roots of your own faith...has he read Galatians 3:29 lately?
@ThisTimeOfGrace meh... Mark Driscoll sometimes goes a bit too far and extreme when he points out the satire of people being way to serious about their religion and losing focus on Jesus. What's more he knows he does it when he finishes with "You get the idea..." I find it funny and it does not demerit the importance of what he's talking about.

@imdamanindahouse Prayers of the Siddur (jewish prayer-book) are not repetative to my knowledge. That is a mere assumption on the part of Mark. Furthermore I think he deliberately made fun of jews, just for the sake of an argument. But Yeshua (Jesus), who was a torah-observant rabbi, would not find this funny. And a more constructive christian attitude would lean towards reuniting the two houses of Israel. We as christians are Abrahams' descendants too (Gal.3:29), so don't debase your brother!
@ThisTimeOfGrace but the beauty of Christ is that we do not need to use somewhere elses prayer ie the Jewish prayer book, the point Mark's getting at is we pray what we pray not pray what a prayer book tells us to pray. Maybe the prayer book is helpful, but its more helpful if we prayer about whats in our hearts.
@ThisTimeOfGrace but i do agree with you on one point that some Christians can become anti-semitic, so pray that we may not fall into this but love Israel as Gods children
@imdamanindahouse Mark Driscoll went off-limits here, but he's usually a very good pastor. And I don't believe he's anti-semite. He's just someone who has always enjoyed his popularity - probably since kindergarten! - and can't relate to anyone who would loose their cool for God like this jewish man did. LOL :-)
@ThisTimeOfGrace nono im not saying mark driscoll is an anti semite i say we can fall into this trap. i dont think this Jewish man lost his cool for God, hes just not directing it correctly, and if he doesnt believe in Jesus then he has no way to God,
@imdamanindahouse You're so right! If only we as christians can help jews understand about Jesus, just starting by acknowledging our common hebrew roots. Find some common ground. That is the beginning of the healing, that will bring jews and christians closer together. The grace of God will heal and Christ will bridge the gap between us. It's all about reuniting the houses of Judah and Ephraim, in the big eschatologicals scope...
Answer...heck yea!! LOVE!

This is great insight for us. Especially, I think, for newer Christians.
