I don't understand why they see the typewriter the same as a computer. The typewriter can write and prints on paper. The computer is a whole different story. It is a whole different thing.
It is the same as saying' the telephone dissapears because more cars are being produced I don't understand. That is probably because i love typewriters and i want them to stay around.
those guys with the type writers in the street were awsome this is why india is so cool ,in Australia its all the same nothing as exotic as those guys in the street tapping away
The more advanced technology man lays his hands on, the more divorced from real skills and his nature he becomes, and the more shallow and infantile, as if he doesn't want to really grow up and take life by its mane.
We must reach for a comfortable (or probably more tenuous) middle ground, where people are more connected to land, the natural sphere, community, the past, animals and others while at the same time enjoying benefits of technological civilisation. Today there is a conflict.
@moviematcanada There are antique shops that sell typewriters for $50,- or more but are usually in good working order so it might be a idea to have apeek.

One day we will all be looking for a Typewriter that doesn't need electricity when the world collapses into Mad Max status!
I wish I had one at home just in case....
