I saw him live in 1981. I went home from that concert and began practicing in earnest. All these years later I'm a guitar teacher and performer. Many of my students still want to learn his style. What an amazing talent and so far ahead of his time!
u really met him lucky since your a guitar teach can u check out my videos and tell me what i need to improve on or just tell me what u think thanks man
i was born across the street ,st. bernadines,nov./66.i was then adopted, and a few years found out ahalf sister was born there also 8/67.her name is denise. i call her deedee.visited randys grave once. heavy experience standing at . his grave facing south and looking across the st. ,my birthplace.
Thank you Mrs. Rhoads for bringing your wonderful son into this world. We all feel your pain in that he was taken away so soon, but I think about Randy Rhoads every day, and he inspires me every time i pick up my guitar. God bless you.
randy is probally jamming right now in heaven, possibly with dime and hendrix. god damn why did he have to get on that plane?! greatest guitarist this world has ever seen!!!

wish i cold have gone. sucks i just missed seeing him live in '82, and now brain tumor has taken away any chance of goin' to california to visit on 3/19 or 12/6. as for moving on, that fine...do whatever you want...but i aint giving up my pile of RR memorabilia.
we should all hope to have so many people remember us in such a good way.
Guitar Player Magazine Just had a Poll for the 40 Best Rock Metal Live Albums and there was not even an honorable mention for Tribute! Absolute Stupidity. 20 Years ago Tribute Won Best Rock Guitar Album.
There is nothing sick about it. Rockers like Randy were legendary. You have to be a guitarist to understand- not beat on some drum machine- remix samples and spout obscene lyrics and call yourself a good... Rockers Like Randy were true musicians and what they did required talent and a spirit or soul if you will. Very few guitarist could ever come close to his skill and technical know how on the guitar. People who play shred like myself were inspired by him to learn to play. its not sick.
Randy, Hendrix and David Gilmour are all tied for my favorite guitarists. Randy has special place inside my heart and soul because he was my first true guitar hero and one of the main reasons I began playing guitar. Randy's mom is such a sweet person and is just adorable. I can really see why people said he was such a good dude. He took after his mom! R.I.P. Randy. Your music is revered still by the masses.
I had a moment watching this...God Bless Randy and his sweet mother Delores..You will live on in our hearts for ever Randy. You inspired me so much. R.I.P. .......from Australia
Glad to see this is really going to happen. His story needs to be told. As long as it's done with respect to his memory and the Rhoad's families vision of how he should be remembered,it will be a great film for all Randy fans to charish and tell the world about our hero...
The brother is Kelly Rhoads, and the blond was Randy's best friend Kelly Garni.

did he say they do this every year?
because, for the magic that that man made, he deserves a memorial twice a day.
the year i am scheduled to leave college, is the 30th anniversary.
i might fly over to California and check out his memorial
RIP RANDY RHOADS

Well if you subtract 25 from 2007, you get 1982; the year Randy died. So yeah, so far I guess they've done it every year.
Livewire8195 2 years ago
no need for sarcasm. i understood the name wrong. as if it meant the 25th anniversary memorial. so it was special....

Hendrix was 27 randy was 25. Randy died for a car accident and hendrix died from drugs hendrix isnt a good model.

Randy wasn't in a fender-bender: he died in a private-plane crash.
They were buzzing above Ozzy's tour bus while relaxing and they crashed into a barn and burst into flames.
McRat1968 3 years ago
They didnt crash into a barn, they crashed into a mansion.
