Thanks4this!ive noticed you av an extra1/2row.are they tuned as standard or av u ad them tuned specificly.i have been around loads of music shops who keep telling me to stay away from the BC melodeon but i want a box that i can get all the notes from as im not made of money and probably shouldn't buy another but i will if it means i can get more tunes. in particular there are the Bb and Eb notes i cant get on my D/G.I like to play anything,your thoughts?

The half row runs from left to right Bb G# / Eb D / E F / Bb G# / Eb D . Push then pull . I got this box to expand the possibilties of tunes which are otherwise out of the reach of my dino baffetti D/G , but still keeping the familiarity of that keyboard set up . The box came with the accidentals set up this way , and althougth at first I thought of various ways of " improving " this , still missing a low F and C ,there's always a way round these drawbacks

The first box I got was a BC which I was fustrated by as it seemed to lack a bass end that was usable for providing a base for the tune , having come to the melodeon from the piano accordion . Where as the DG allowed this to flow in a very natural and simple manner .

what key is this melodeon in? i want to know what key andy cutting plays in?  ive got a d/g melodeon and when he plays with kate rusby its not in this key. can you help?

It's a D/G. I transposed the tune down from Am (which is what key it apears in on a number of sites ,so mabey that's the key it's in on the recording you mention.) to Em
