I met Jakson back 2003 and he was the greatest guy. It's mind boggling to see them this young! I was jammin' on Train, Train when it was new! Damn, I feel old. God Bless em' all.
I guess they didn't spare the expense for that studio. Was that done in the warehouse out back? Maybe they could have stored that stuff in another room. lol
Nice to put a face to the beautiful harp and lyrics ! He was such a nice and friendly Fella ! I hope he got a big cut ! Without Shorty there wouldnt be Blackfoot !
my son and i met the skynyrd band at a red light in jacksonville fl after the supper bowl jam,,,they had traffic going the other way, here came a big white van stopping at this red light ,,we where standing at ,,looked up and it was ricky in the front seat with the window half the way down,,in my hand was a poster board i took with all the back stage badges for show ,,my son and i just walked up and i said ricky would you holding it up,, in the front window,,,all of skynyrd was yelling! oh yes
amazing! Shorty Medlocke..........thank you SO much for posting this! The man that led Ricky to being one of the best rockers out in the biz! Nothing but love the the rattlesnake rock and rollers!
Not many people really seem to know that Shorty played one of the most hard drivin' southern rock harmonica riffs in rock history...he also wrote the song Train Train. What a legend!! What a great old guy too.
Truly, Blackfoot was and are major contributors in creating and perpetuating around the world the popularity and success of our very own idiom of Southern Rock music from it's very roots right here in Jville, FL.
