Cool man please let me know when you have done it as i really like the first gen RX-7's and am alway interested in the customisation of them. I'm actually trying to get hold of one for a project myself.
This just my opinion and no offence intended but that has to be the worst bodykit i've EVER seen on a 79 - 85 RX-7. I mean that back bumper would have you in ricers and sheds on top gear uk and the front looks like a skate ramp. The colour is amazing though same as my skyline.

Cool project man, I mean I'm not the biggest fan of that front bumper, but it looks pretty damn good fabrication wise. I know it takes some skill to make something like that. Now at least put some tire shine on those old tires. That gas tank looked pretty freaking bad too! I've had to install a quarter panel on a car before and it was on the gas door side. Welding those few spot welds inside the gas door was pretty scary! Good thing your dad is okay though.
@therotaryrocket thanks. this winter we are going to be cutting that bodykit off because I wanna remake it better with more curve kind of like a drift kind look. but i am going to remake the front end out of metal because fiber glass is a pain to work with and my dad knows how to work with metal better and another reason is we can make it off the car before putting it on. but i am hoping it will be done for spring so i can cruse in it and i have less work to do now.
Your dad is damn Lucky he wasn't killed. A guy here local in memphis was doing nearly the same thing and the gas tank Wrapped around his head and killed him. You should always Drop the gas tank whenever you are welding even within 4 feet of the tank. that Being said I have to be honest and say that was a dumb ass move welding anywhere near the tank. Safety first!
Did you completely redo the interior yourself? how did you redo the dash? I have a 1988 mazda rx7 and im redoing the interior and now im onto my last few steps including redoing the dash in black, And what color code did you paint your 7? I almost shat myself cause thats the exact color i want to go with my 7
the rx7 does have a rear end and front end i can buy that will give me a better bolt pattern 4x114.3. so i am hoping to get that then rebuild it and put on a big brake kit.
You're going to redo all that work??? OMG... You're dedicated to that car. Very nice work. Watching this from start to finish has taught me a few things actually. However... I'd say leave the body as it is, drop it, put some bigger wheels on it. I bet it's going to look a lot different when you do that.

thanks i was thinking of keeping origanal but i would rather have somthing that no one has to be very different it still have the rotary and allways will. maybe in 5 years i will put it back to original. but this winter i am going to cut off the body kit and remake it better then ever.

hmm have you heard of somthing different? why would i tune somthing that i dont like. when i can tune a car that i love. if i update the car with newer parts it will keep on geting better and better.

There should be a hub swap or hub converters for the wheel issues.
