This is one of my favorites from Season 3. This track is in the key of E flat. The part starting at 1:47 is exactly the same as what would be used for Kara's destiny theme in Season 4. All Bear McCreary had to do was take it and lower it one half step to D and make it something totally different. Why Bear McCreary isn't scoring Hollywood blockbusters is something I can't figure out. He is, undisputedly, the next John Williams.

I liked the bit where, in the back of the truck, Zarek asked Laura whether she had tried to steal the election, and she admits it and then Zarek just looks at her and says "I wish you'd gone through with it.". At that point I thought maybe my initial instinct was right and Tom might actually turn out to be one of the 'good guys'. Too bad in the end he turned out to be a power-hungry asshole after all. :(

@antred11 That's just Zarek though. The means are always ALWAYS justified by the ends in his mind. Which is why I've always found him to be one the most fascinating characters on the show. He always wanted to do the righteous thing but he never cared what the cost was. Zarek wasn't exactly a good guy, but he was extremely principled. He wouldn't have given up the vice prez seat and been sent to the camps on New Cap if he wasn't.

Really brilliant score to the entire series and this is another example. Bear McCreary is one of the main reasons I thought this show was so brilliant. He set the mood and pace so brilliantly.

@atomhammer I don't think the series would have been NEARLY as effective if it wasn't for the consistently excellent work of Mr. Mc Creary and the sometimes brilliant pieces he developed - and much as I like this piece, I still think my favorite is "The Shape of Things to Come/Easterly View"

The soundtrack side of things is so easily forgotten but I cant think of a movie nor TV series that I have loved that didnt have a soundtrack that really enthralled. Bear McCreary's work on this series easily tops most movie scores and I hope it goes down as a classic. I love it. Thankfully Im not alone :). enjoy all!

This is the piece I was looking for. From when the cylons were taking Callie, Roslin etc. away in trucks on New Caprica for execution. My fave piece of music from the whole series.

Wasn't the ending to the episode one of the most harrowing ever? Callie running into the pit, the metal Cylons coming out cycling from hands to guns and as Callie runs away you hear the machineguns. The screen then fades to black, credits appear and you have to wait until the next episode to see what happens.
