( as I remember it) and radiation got out. the only controversy was: some thought it was sabotage. so some "hot" water got out, it was in no way a melt down. but chernobyl, STILL a ghost town. and a real tragedy, lotta brave rescue people died :( I am from US n not all of us are heartless self centered assholes. but every country as a few!
