I had a friend who always got straight "A's" , but lacked social skills and humility. His 8th grade teacher gave him a college-level exam to show him he didn't know it all-rest of the class received an 8th grade level exam. He cried after failing test, but learned a valuable lesson.
A helicopter parent would call that mean and sue the school. His mom thought it was a good lesson.
