  • Thanks for putting up this song. I have always enjoyed it and have been to two different congregations that regularly sing it during mass and the lyrics are really at a different approach to glorifying God through us. Different approach than most people are used to thus I understand the controversy some people brew up about it. Thanks again!

  • Thank you so much for posting this song! I love it :)

  • @k5rakitan You're welcome! Seems to be some debate, however, on whether this is "liturgy." This might have been the last time I use it at church!

  • @DawnESlike My youth/contemporary choir introduced me to this song, and I think it's a GREAT song about discipleship! Conservative Catholics love to bash songs that in any way refer to the assembly and not strictly to God on the grounds that liturgical music is supposed to glorify God alone. I agree with that statement, but I disagree with the notion that this song in any way places us "above" God. On the contrary, the song is a statement that we are called to bring Christ to the world.

  • I like listening to Tom Conry music. Where can I get a CD? Where is Tom now?

  • do you sing and play every mass? what about a choir or canor or another group??

  • @schlagzpops60 no,yes.

  • I appreciate you putting up videos like this, dont let negative comments bring you down

  • @plux19 Thanks. I try to consider where people are coming from and not take things too personally.

  • Never mind the critics. This is a powerful and incisive song.

Critics need to get a life and realise that while many are called, few are chosen.

And this is a reminder that "We are called, we are chosen."

  • I'm not commenting on the singing or the playing... the lyrics suck. "we, we, we, we, we, 13 times of 'we' in the refrain ALONE! How about giving glory to God!? "We are harvest, we are hunger, we are question, we are creed..." What does this even mean?

And the verses leave no room for breath, even as the line ascends! Bad writing! (

  • @IanSamuel88 I'll admit, I don't care for the lyrics much, either! Yes, the focus is not on the imitation of Christ so much as the emphasis on ourselves to be better people.

  • @IanSamuel88

AMEN! This song has NOTHING to do with Catholic Liturgy. It's a good piano pounding song, and catchy, but it's not for Mass.

  • Does anyone know of any recording artist that have done this song? I have the Tom Conry version but I was just seeing if anyone else has done the song?

  • Thank you! I couldn't find this song anywhere. Awesome!

  • @fhsdrumbum Thank you - and all of you - so much!
