@EyeScreamPL In all fairness Marc has a wonderful voice, he's the one that wanted to do this even before Gene knew who he was. They recorded their parts separately, Gene did it the way Marc wanted it done and the result was a huge hit in the UK. Gene said this gave a whole new generation the opportunity to hear this great song once again. Gene also said it's been many many years since he HAD to work, so don't confuse him with being broke. He just wanted to work.

I heard this on indie/import radio in the late 80s. I LOVED their voices together.
Later Nick Cave did a cover - but it was never as good, I thought. It missed Gene.
