It's a new version off a song usually called "When Johnny Comes Marching Home"

an old song from civil war times sung by solders. "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye" is another older version of the song with different lyrics, the kids version is called when the ants come marching home.

@DaCoolKid1212 it's just animated extruded splines. if you want to learn how to do it 3D studio max is a good program to start with.

@taoistflyer try making all your paper plane vids animated like that coz i had a HUGE TROUBLE making that itty bitty flaps that i cant see when you cut it coz you has big fingers and i have a little bit confused . when i always throw them they always crash to the ground. try that for me.btw i downloaded all your paper planes and try making you p 51 mustang that is you say rubber powered. also make a shuttle that actually flies that isnt connected to 747

how do you always make the plane come back to you like i know you use the flaps but mine doesnt do a turn that sharp and so perfectly is it the way u throw it?

@Torture97 it is all in the way you throw it, hold it sideways and throw them slightly up and at an angle, and pretty hard, each one is a little different. it takes some practice.

how did you make the godly animation?

First I design the aircraft template in pc paint.

Then I use 3D studio max.

I Place the image in the view port background then outline each piece with a spline, then move the pivot of each piece to the fold line. it's multiple pieces connected together, not one piece folding, once all the pieces and the white background pieces are made i extrude them . Then I link them together, give it a UVW map and add the texture and align it. then I animate the folding and animate the camera and render it.

It will need a little more reinforcement on the wings, or need to be made out of thicker paper.

6 inches is about the largest you want to make the wing span.

Five blazing hot stars! The rendered ani is better than the frame-reduced time lapse, I think. It's clearer what gets cut and what gets folded how. Is it actually easier to produce like this than with the "film footage"?

Thank you, It's less of a headache this way. It takes about an hour to build, texture, and animate the model. it takes about an hour and a half to render, it's a lot easier to edit because I don't have to try to condense 15 minutes of footage into 5 min. And I don't have hunch over a table for an hour cutting paper.

I'm also working on a way to do A.R. instructions.

If it works you could place the print out in front of a web cam, and this animation will float over the page as if it is their.

I made this while teaching my girlfriend how to take a 2D picture and make a model of it, it's actually a pretty simple process, Put the image in the view port of a 3d program, outline each part with a spline, close the spline, extrude it, move the pivot point to wear the fold will occur, group the items together, add a uvw map and add the texture. then just move and fold the parts every few frames in animation mode. Add some lighting, shadows, and blur and your ready to render.

Both are on my list, I've made an x-29 and it flies like a dream. I'm also planning on having the set from f-14 up to the f22, including a version of the fabled f19. if people like this animated instructional video format then I will be able to do them pretty quickly.

I saw your simulator video of you flying a plane in aerofly, it was really cute how you knocked the wing off. i used aerofly for a few years and loved it, but I've moved up to real flight G 4.5.

You should check it out, they're giving away all 5 of the expansion packs for free. The helicopter physics are much more realistic and it's got hundreds of new planes

You should check out my simulator video of me flying a Boeing 747 3D, it's pretty old but still fun. I'm more of a micro and 3D heli guy

yea i have g4.5 now and it is way more realistic then aerofly. aerofly is just to easy its really nothing like actually flying. g4's physics are very similar to flying a real plane and thats the only sim i use now

Have you checked out the real flight swap page. Their are 4 aircraft that i would suggest downloading. Boeing 747-400ER (it's fun to do 3D in an airliner) Yak55 (Insanely Powerful fun 3D flight) Convair XFY-1 (like the version on aerofly except this one can be landed) Sikorsky X2_EA (Because it's fun and fast.) I'll send you the download links in a PM

Itll bring you to the knifeedge site that hosts all the real flight extra aircraft and airports, there are thousands of them. You can use both the realflight g4 and g4.5 aircraft

look at the ratings before you download them, the ones with bad ratings usually suck
