Hey Eric I have a question. I own a MTH Premier Monon BL-2. It is high rail wheels, but you can run it on 2 rails track. Can you convert high rail to scale wheels? Also can you switch the operating couplers with kadee? A club I go to runs proto 48 which is scale 2 rail o scale layout.
I love this engine! I have the BNSF one. My only problem is putting smoke fluid in. The smokestacks are so thin that some of the fluid tends to get out.
Nick I agree about Lionel. I have gotten several high quality engines from Lionel since May and have had problems with all of them. Two ES44ACs, the crane and boom w/ TMCC, and the Vision Line Genset. As a newbie, it's leaving a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully I've just been unlucky. BTW, all of my MTH stuff has been perfect.
@aocruiser The MTH engine doesn't have the cab number in the crew talk either. PS3 doesn't give you any new features, it's just a more modern electronics package inside.
@esiegel76 MTH never had the engine # is their crew talk, with the exception of a few. Lionel on the other hand is taking a step backwards, whatever is easier and faster to get their engines out of the "mill" so they can make a buck! I'm not saying I'll never buy another Lionel engine, just that I wish they wouldn't have taken out that feature which gives each engine a different personality. BTW...PS3 will have improved sounds, they are incorporating them into some new PS2 engines already.

Hi Eric Nice Review. Only thing I have to say is that to say MTH is a honda is kinda of an insult. Not that I'm taking a shot at you, its just I think MTH is more like the Mercedes if you are comparing it to a rolls. lol Take care.
@PghTrainFanatic Hey, Honda makes a great car and they're more affordable than a Mercedes. MTH is all about affordable quality, sorta like a Honda. :)

I heard about the new non-vision gensets and that they bumped out the 3 smoke units and it only has one now, plus now flapping smoke stacks! I hear you got one, and I'm guessing you aren't very happy about it. Some things Lionel is doing lately are really bugging me. Another thing is that they don't have the cab #'s announced in the sounds now. Big thumbs down to that!

@bradstrains That's why they make both a 3-rail version with the large couplers and a 2-rail version with the scale couplers.
