The only issue with Duke Nukem is people do not realize that this was NEVER meant to be a halo type FPS. this is a First Person Arcade game, it was meant to be fun to play, with lots of little tidbit arcade like challenges to explore, and part platformer. If you are a hardcore FPS fan, this game is not for you. If you like something a little different, want to take a break from the run of the mill, this is it.

What the stupid game doesn't realize is that the "power armor" is only built for physically augmented super soldiers. I doubt Duke went through the Spartan II project, so if he even makes one movement inside that armor, his bones would all break. So really, it takes balls to wear that power armor and to get used to it.

The weapons might be greater and do much more damage in Halo, but scale it to a dude with no protection and it wouldn't matter. A gun is a gun, and theres plenty of choices that he takes to the face. He either evades it or patches himself up later (or did before that silly ego system)
