  • To the point that Paul encouraged Titus to rebuke those false teachers: Certainly Titus should not act like the gluttonous, lazy Cretans, and certainly we should not act like unbelievers in an effort to reach them. But does not the comparison break down because of the fact Titus was to rebuke FALSE TEACHERS, as opposed to the reasoning for which many use when "contextualizing" for a general UNBELIEVER? It seems the text is not related to what the preacher is trying to pit it against.

  • 2nd Corinthians 6:17 says... "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"

    I guess they either reject that verse, ignore it, or consider it antiquated.
