There is a lot to see in the states, I've been through all of them with my dad and i've yet to see it all. Maybe never will see it all either but i plan to get my CDL when i am old enough and follow my grandpa and my dads footsteps. i respect all truckers and they are the backbone to the world. Keep on drivin and stay safe.
Thank you, David. My son is a long haul trucker, and I'm glad to see that he isn't the only nice, well mannered, presentable young man out there on the road. He'd like very much to truck in Canada, but he doesn't have a permit. I guess they're hard to get. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching your video. Good job. And good luck to you,
Awesome video. I'm a Canadian truck driver from Montreal, Quebec. I been driving now for 4 1/2 years & I absolutely love it, however, leaving my Family behind at the start of every trip to the US, is by far the most difficult. Drive safe partner...;)
Hey dave,I love all your videos.I think its great what you do for us everyday.
I plan to also be a trucker but I have awhile,im only 17.Ive been wanting to be a trucker since I was 5 from what my parents tell me.I keep watching these videos daily just because it helps me kinda prepare myself of what I will be doing in the near future,And I thank you for the advice and information.Safe travels brother and God Bless!
I am getting ready to give a choice to truckers for a solution to some of the problems
we face everyday, away from family, the solitude, and everything that goes along
with being a truck driver. I used to be a truck driver having 10 children so, I know the pain, and I have a perfect solution! I don't know, maybe you like the truck. I liked driving also but I decided to step out of my comfort zone for a better life. If Interested: johntunny@gmail.com Have a great day! Great video!

Great dude. I drove trucks for 40 years here in the UK and parts of Europe till ill health forced me to retire early. Probably like you, I am very happy with my own company.
Excellent. Where do you find the time to do the editing and scoring?
I gotta say, most have commented on the filmmaking skill evident. I'll add that the writing is exceptional. Really well-done. There's no reason why this can't be picked up by Discovery Channel or something like it. Good luck. Keep it safe!
WOW.... I was going to drive for schneider, Not now. There is no way I could handle being alone for weeks at a time. I will do somthing else for a living and hold out for a p&d driving job (city driver). Good job you diserve alot of money for putting up with that shit. Thanks to all you over the road drivers your a special breed.
Thanks for film David. I am going to watch all-Episode videos The Life of a Trucker. I drove crosses America 3 times from West coast to East coast on Highway, #10, #20, #40. I has seen many Trucker driving days and nights on the roads... Watching your videos today, I learn more about The Life of a Trucker.
If someone wants to record they can place a hidden cam it is not hard to do so what are they talking about they were just being aholes.
As for traffic like that I use to drive past the cities even if I had to go over a bit it isn't worth it to deal with traffic it wears the truck and you cost too much in fuel too.
@cdltpx Sure it is illegal but sometimes we need to have that flexibility to make a sensible judgement call. I bet the last thing the commerce department wants is all the trucks in rush hour just bc it is the law. Toward the end I was a chemical hauler I had to do it right with them the fines are too much to make commonsense decisions.
One thing for sure the cops don't work just 11 hours they work days on end many times and they carry a gun.
Heaven forbid anyone knows where the double secret locations to cross the borders are. Should have told him it was for safety and to prove who was in wrong in accident. How you like those T-800s. I am thinking of getting one. 244"-86"studio-550Cat. 02' model. Thanks for video.
if you could start off independent and succeed....companies are a last resort. If not, companies are a first shot, and there is a butthead in an office penny pinching more than 4 drivers make combined...the industry is grotesque. when straight sixxes disappear, in exchange for the v8, I'll know somebody real won something for drivers...I wouldn't be able to apply. I would walk out in a mental state before finishing an application.
how does someone who doesn't have 2 years driving experience get a start in trucking. I want to be a driver but I think its my age(21 with a cdl since last year) thats holding me back.
any advice for me and others who might be in the same position as me ?
I just got my cdl. advice i was given was to work locally and get experience and apply to companies, werner, swift, cr england, crst, or whoever you want to work for. they should get back to you pretty quick.
if not call them, bug them, and dont stop.
when they call, youll be put in with a trainer for a few months and youll be good.
almost any company will hire you if you got atleast 1 yr exp but if you have no exp ya will need to go with a company that hires students like swift, schneider, cr england, covenant most will take you as long as you don't have an bad driving record and a bad crimnla record no duis or drugs

PS; Yeah the US Customs can be a son of a gun at times,....The last time that I ran up to Halifax Nova Scotia. On my return trip, The US Customs near Houlton ME? Gave me a tough time. He didn't think that I was an American! So I handed him my Drivers lic. with my photo ID on it. He asked me why I had given him my lic. I told him well,... There's my picture & my address & there's the address on my rig. What a pain in the rump! It was about 11pm in Jan.
