  • Thank you, David. My son is a long haul trucker, and I'm glad to see that he isn't the only nice, well mannered, presentable young man out there on the road. He'd like very much to truck in Canada, but he doesn't have a permit. I guess they're hard to get. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching your video. Good job. And good luck to you,

    Sandy

  • I am getting ready to give a choice to truckers for a solution to some of the problems

we face everyday, away from family, the solitude, and everything that goes along

with being a truck driver. I used to be a truck driver having 10 children so, I know the pain, and I have a perfect solution! I don't know, maybe you like the truck. I liked driving also but I decided to step out of my comfort zone for a better life. If Interested: johntunny@gmail.com Have a great day! Great video!

  • I truly enjoy your narratives and your subject and edits are awesome. I will continue to follow your videos. Take care.

  • Excellent. Where do you find the time to do the editing and scoring?

I gotta say, most have commented on the filmmaking skill evident. I'll add that the writing is exceptional. Really well-done. There's no reason why this can't be picked up by Discovery Channel or something like it. Good luck. Keep it safe!

  • nce video man god god video

tell jerry he is a lazy ass and should of got his ass out of bed to miss the traffic

I will do somthing else for a living and hold out for a p&d driving job (city driver). Good job you diserve alot of money for putting up with that shit. Thanks to all you over the road drivers your a special breed.

  • Nice film..Safe travels my friend.

  • great vidio i love it

  • Must be hard for Gerry to drive North America after only 3 weeks in country. Great vid's I enjoy them, thanks

  • Thanks for film David. I am going to watch all-Episode videos The Life of a Trucker. I drove crosses America 3 times from West coast to East coast on Highway, #10, #20, #40. I has seen many Trucker driving days and nights on the roads... Watching your videos today, I learn more about The Life of a Trucker.

Thanks again. Keep up your good work!

  • great work truly!

  • If someone wants to record they can place a hidden cam it is not hard to do so what are they talking about they were just being aholes.

As for traffic like that I use to drive past the cities even if I had to go over a bit it isn't worth it to deal with traffic it wears the truck and you cost too much in fuel too.

  • @cdltpx Sure it is illegal but sometimes we need to have that flexibility to make a sensible judgement call. I bet the last thing the commerce department wants is all the trucks in rush hour just bc it is the law. Toward the end I was a chemical hauler I had to do it right with them the fines are too much to make commonsense decisions.

One thing for sure the cops don't work just 11 hours they work days on end many times and they carry a gun.

  • MUY BUENO!! AMIGO!!

  • thanks for the Vid David! keep up the good work! you should submit this to some film festivals!

  • WOW !

great Video, super work on the cutting and the comments, keep it up Driver.

  • nice video, going to watch the rest of your videos, keep trucking!

  • u rock dude keep hammering down

  • its a very hard job but its also very beautiful....its a love between the drive and the truckf

  • brilliant.

  • Very well done!

  • i live near Minneapolis like 20-30minutes south

  • Heaven forbid anyone knows where the double secret locations to cross the borders are. Should have told him it was for safety and to prove who was in wrong in accident. How you like those T-800s. I am thinking of getting one. 244"-86"studio-550Cat. 02' model. Thanks for video.

  • good to see that there are some good old brit drivers out there !

  • very beautyful movie man! good narration, good direction...

    very good

    be home safe

  • nice vid mate good luck ...

  • excellent video mate

  • if you could start off independent and succeed....companies are a last resort. If not, companies are a first shot, and there is a butthead in an office penny pinching more than 4 drivers make combined...the industry is grotesque. when straight sixxes disappear, in exchange for the v8, I'll know somebody real won something for drivers...I wouldn't be able to apply. I would walk out in a mental state before finishing an application.

  • how does someone who doesn't have 2 years driving experience get a start in trucking. I want to be a driver but I think its my age(21 with a cdl since last year) thats holding me back.

any advice for me and others who might be in the same position as me ?

  • what class of cdl do you have and how much trator trailer experience do you have?

  • I just got my cdl. advice i was given was to work locally and get experience and apply to companies, werner, swift, cr england, crst, or whoever you want to work for. they should get back to you pretty quick.

if not call them, bug them, and dont stop.

when they call, youll be put in with a trainer for a few months and youll be good.

  • almost any company will hire you if you got atleast 1 yr exp but if you have no exp ya will need to go with a company that hires students like swift, schneider, cr england, covenant most will take you as long as you don't have an bad driving record and a bad crimnla record no duis or drugs

  • VERY GOOD FILM WORK AND NARRATION

  • Bloody great video, ol' mate!

  • fantastic quality,it was odd to hear the description of 'english immigrants',as over here we have mostly ex eastern bloc drivers,so it's hard thinking of the guys being the same type of immigrant workers...loved the quality and content,am just gonna make my self a cuppa and watch the rest....all the best to you david..regards loz

  • Atta Boy! Thank You David. Fine taste of music too. Loved the New Age beats.

  • hi david i m from philly and im getting in the trucking game i loved all of the episodes dont stop make them why dont you make a movie

  • Great video, I hope you make many more! I glad customs takes their job serious! When I first heard your voice, I thought it was Keanu Reeves narrating for your video... LOL! Your narration is excellent, thoughtful and introspective.

    Woody

  • i love your videos trucker

    5*

  • Great film...if I could make one suggestion...a few times the music was just a little louder than the speaking. I had to really concentrate to catch all the words...Other than that, put together very well.

  • Great film and great content!

  • the lowery tunnel.. Whatch for queers man their out there..

  • AT 8:15 when you are crossing back into Canada...is that the Blue Water Bridge from Port Huron Michigan to Sarnia Ontario? If so that is where I live. (Sarnia) Do you cross there often? If in fact that is where you crossed. Maybe we could meet up sometime for a video shoot!!

  • Hi David. I just watched episode one. Very well done. I am about to embark on a trucking career. I plan on doing doc's as well. Stay Safe!

    Don

  • Wow! That was very well done! Great video!

PS; Yeah the US Customs can be a son of a gun at times,....The last time that I ran up to Halifax Nova Scotia. On my return trip, The US Customs near Houlton ME? Gave me a tough time. He didn't think that I was an American! So I handed him my Drivers lic. with my photo ID on it. He asked me why I had given him my lic. I told him well,... There's my picture & my address & there's the address on my rig. What a pain in the rump! It was about 11pm in Jan.

  • Thank you.

You are promoting understanding among people who share the road and the road of life.

  • I was sent your film by Trucker Steve, and I am hooked. It really must be amazing to see the tall buildings and huge cities of America for the first time. As amazed as I would be to see the old cities of Europe for the first time. Class A film my friend. 5 Stars, subscribe and share.

  • Excellent video work. I have to subscribe now...can't wait to watch the rest of the series. BOL

  • I wouldn't want you to get into a lot of shit with US customs. I'm glad you got to record what you could. I enjoy your videos so much! I marvel at the sights you show me too. I'm glad Gerry made you do it.
