I'm wondering now if it's to do with having videos up on the page, so they converted it into the vid page we see since they altered that a while back. If it were due to this, why not remove the ability of viewability and have them as a link like the searches, rather showing them. We don't need that smaller squinty screen for blogs up or even the featured vid actually watchable. It could be a blow up of an icon, but then it takes you to the page screen.

I know I'm a little late to post this opinion on your video. But I think youtube just likes to force change. I think they look at this as people bitch about anything that changes, such as the widescreen change, or the bulletin change

anything to get away from that I do like most of both of them but since most of it is coming from the Irate Gamer's videos I'm not sure that I will continue watching him particularly since he slowed down with his videos. Anyway I starting to find your videos intriguing maybe a subscriber but I haven't made my decision yet =/
I can actually agree with you there, Irategamer has gotten stale, but I think AVGN has gotten stale as well, I think they were both at there funniest when they were first starting out. My favorite game reviewer right now is probably the IGSRJ.
I am most notable for my rants, and some of my game reviews, those are the videos people like the most, so feel free to check those out if you do decide to check more of my videos.
I think part of the reason they have started getting stale is all the popularity they get, then because they have so many viewers they just keep trying too harder to impress everyone perhaps too hard and when that happens people usually change their style and some of their older fans might not like it
I agree, it should be left how it is, we have a choice whether we want to use it or not, in all honesty I am getting more use to the channels, as a lot of people use them now, so I am pretty much forced to have to navigate through it, I can figure it out for the most part, but still I like the way my channel looks and I do not want to be forced to change my design.
Also I think youtube should be focusing on other issues besides new channel designs.
I myself am neutral with the beta (even though I use it myself). It's not perfect by any means, but I have no major problems with it once I figure things out. Sure, there's the loading issue and the glitches, but that only dampers it a little.
And I agree with the comment approval. I have it on my videos and channel for the reasons that non-friends may have some pointers. However, you DO make a point about damage being done once a troll or hater comes around.
Adding to that last comment, I PERSONALLY think that YouTube needs to get rid of the 5-star rating systems. IMO, it's been abused to death, and it's getting harder to find what's worthwhile to watch and what's... well, not.
There's also the issues with flagging, but I think I've said enough.

Its like trying to make yourself cool due to warm weather, you have two options air conditioning or fans, either way it makes you cooler, but you get a choice, and your not forced to us one option.
It's Internet Explorer 6 which is an old shitty browser that was created in 2001 and Websites like Youtube, Facebook and Twitter are trying to phase it out. And IE6 doesn't work with the new channels.

Agreed beta channels are terrible they load like shit, freeze half the time, and you can't go full screen or see all the comments on the profile videos. Although I don't think partners get to choose because i saw a video where one partner was complaining about it, yet his own profile was the beta channel.

Yes that happens to me all the time. The Beta channels were suppose to become mandatory a few weeks ago but youtube postponed it because of all the bugs. But even if they do fix all of them a lot of problems will still exist.

Well no matter what you do you can never get rid of trolls. Even if youtube did have a way to stop them, the clever ones will either make their own account just to bash you, or they will hack your account and delete everything. The only way to stop a troll is too not acknowledge them, or better yet laugh when they make a comment bashing you. They will leave you alone if they see that it doesn't bother you. Trust me, I've dealt with a lot of trolls.

its still not the same though, even with comment approval you still see the comment, the user sees it, once he sees the comment the damage is done whether its approved or not.

It says in the video that it was going to look more like hulu ( which never happen ) but it wasn't bought by hulu and hulu is owned by four corporations.
